Can I please chime in as well.... I just found out that the "pearl" beads on my necklace are peeling off in patches :( It's from 07A, will Chanel do re-glaze for a fee? I'm really not looking forward to another 6-8 week wait for them to fix/ replace it and pay a huge fee on top of that. Any suggestions gladly welcome... I'm so sad just looking at it. Going down to the boutique now to check with them, let's see what they have to say :(

Depending on when you purchased it, if it's less than 12 months ago and you purchased it from the boutique, repair is...free of charge! That said, it really depends on the damage. If it's something extraordinary (like my Madam Coco fell off my Coco Moon chain belt completely!!), Chanel repaired it for free even if the 12 month period has already passed!!

No idea how department stores work.

Just got back from the 1 and only Chanel boutique we have in Singapore. The SAs took 1 look at the peeling pearls and said the only solution was to send it back to Paris for repairs (minimum 6 months) and cost to be advised. Previous clients had done that and just to replace 4-5 medium pearls cost a minimum of usd$300 :( And I've got 10 affected pearls! Either that or just "live with it" as it's costume jewellery and there is no guarantee that after replacing it that it won't happen again. Anyway, I took it back home to give serious thought as to whether it's worth all the time and $$$. That aside - I asked if the newer pearl necklaces are of better quality (I just bought the Le Duc long necklace recently) and guess what.... they said it's still made of the same pearls and "sooner-or-later" it will peel as well!! How comforting... lol :(

Thank you everyone for sharing your experience .Now I am not sure that worth if I will fix it or not because this necklace was bought 2 years ago . Maybe I will go the shop and try to ask how much they charge me for repairing it first and think about it again .

Let us know what you find out. I've got some missing crystals from a pendant and also a pair of medium CC earrings. I'm going to measure the diameter w/jewelry calipers and search for same size replacement crystals. I'm sure it's going to be hard to find though.

Actually, I think it's not free of charge, even if the thing needed to be repaired is small.
The Chanel lady wouldn't let me know how much I needed to pay.. such a rude woman at the Melbourne boutique.
She told me she won't be able to tell me the price , until after it is repaired..

i have had good luck with repairs here in michigan. i have never been charged
and in the past, earrings were just replaced when the pearls fell out. supposedly
chanel has now changed the glue they use and this problem should be less
frequent according to my dsa. also, if you are wearing perfume and the pearls
come in contact with that, they will peel. you have to be very careful with
all pearls, real and fake, to keep them away from perfume on your neck.
hope this helps. plus there is a small jewelry repair shop here in birmingham,
michigan that repairs almost all chanel jewelry at a good price and it only
takes about a week.
good luck ladies....
best regards.

I just dropped off at Chanel 57th Street two pair of earrings that were missing rhinestones on both earrings (both pairs) and one pair even fell apart completely. I was quoted $30 for each pair. I think it may be just their standard price for repair.
