Question Tarnish/discoloration of bowler zipper?

The zipper on the luxe metallic bowler that I bought seems to be tarnished as it's a coppery-color, but I believe it's supposed to be silver? I thought this was strange since this is a newer, not vintage, purse...how would this happen, and is there any way I can clean/fix it? I'm hoping there is When I ran a white cloth over it yesterday, there was black on the cloth, so I'm assuming it's tarnish....

Also if this wasn't described to me as part of wear, should I ask for a refund of some sort???

Thanks so much!

I wouldn't try to get a refund. Does it say what type of metal it is? Some of my pulls say they are brass, for example. That might help you figure out the best way to clean it.
