I was at Chanel NAC yesterday and MBS store today looking at the Boy Flap. I have been wanting to get the Boy for ages but somehow when I held it in my hand, it seems lacking. Doesn't befit the status of a $6480 bag. I am not sure if I will even pay $4500 for it in Europe. The finish seems rough, not as well made. But it looks good from afar.

Anyone has the same feel as me be it Boy or other Chanel bags?

Same here, I'm just not a fan of Boy, it could be that i prefer something more feminine. But it has it's own style, a fashion statement

Well, cool.. Different people have different likes...For me, boy is too fashionable in my opinion...Prefer to buy the classic item! :)...

Have the same feeling for the Chanel Boy like you...

I am not talking about the design. I like the look of it. Just that I don't find it well-made enough to justify the price. Wonder if it is just me.

I'm not a fan of boy too. Though for the bronzy-gold one seen recently, I felt it was the best colour I've seen fit for the boy design (masculine n outstanding yet not too overpowering).

However I dun understand y it's tagged @ that price... Esp the new boy wallets... I was told by the SA that it's more ex den classic series bcos of that metal piece n I'm like: ??!?!???

I feel the quilted leather is more justified den that metal piece on boy (if that's the true reason for the more ex pricetag), but that's just me. To each her own, I guess.

Yeah agree that the boy is priced comparable to classics flaps yet the finishing is comparable to those cheaper seasonal flaps that comes with fabric interior lining. however, the look is something very different, only chanel fanatics will know. :)

Correct me if i am wrong cos i do not own a boy Chanel n hv only tried them on in the store.
May be there isn't many pockets/compartments in a boy Chanel as compared to a classic flap?
The lack of a double flap in a boy definitely means lesser material/leather is used. The interior looks bare and is fabric lined.
For the steep price point, I would rather get a classic flap or a reissue. I am a sucker for classic:)
I must say the quilted ones are very pretty but I try to avoid lambskin.
I might get one in future cos sometimes it takes a long time for a bag to grow on me:)

I beg to differ. I fall in love with Chanel because of the boy bag. It was love at 1st sight. Something so different and yet classic.

But I have to agree on the part when the interior linings are fabric, price tag seems a little high for non leather interior linings.
