Default should i dye to another color or just restore to original color?

I recently purchased a used white jumbo flap from a lovely gal, and thought of redying to a dark red. I contacted Barbara from lovinmybags and she said it will cost at least $500 to do that. But she does not really recommend it, since there are issues like the zippers and stitches and stuff- but it can be done. She recommend to restore it and she is able to make it as good as new. the cost will be about $325.
I don't know what to do. Should i get it dyed to red? I have been dreaming of a red jumbo for a long long long long long time.
Or should i just restore it back to the nice crisp white. It's just that I have never own a white bag, I'm just scared that it will get dirty.
Please let me know your thoughts? comments?
Thanks a bunch!

You asked a professional and she said it could have issues, that's as good as a no for me. Restore it back to the crisp white, it will look perfect this way. Good luck with whatever you choose.

You want it to come out the best it possibly can, so to me, when a professional cannot promise it to come out excellent, then stick with the original color.

I have a few white bags, and they hold up very well. I have not had any problems with any white Chanels I have.

I totally agree with DD. (I too have some white Chanels and they do hold up beautifully, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised when you get your restored bag back!)

I agree with everyone else, just restore it. Since you are sending it to Barbara for the work, see how much it would cost to get a coating of protector on it. That should help repel dirt and make it a lot easier to wipe clean if it does get dirty.
