I think it just depends on how important it is to you. If you no longer carry the LVs, I would sell the ones you aren't totally attactched to if you can stand it. Then you could save the difference.

I have to say, I have a jumbo and it is the 1 bag in my collection I would buy again at virtually any price without hesitation if I had to. It is my absolute favorite.

I love love love LV and find them more hardy than Chanel but since you already have a few LVs, why not sell one or two to help fund the Chanel?

The Jumbo is such a nice and somewhat versatile bag! Not to mention very classy too!

As a former LV addict, I totally understand your dilemma.

I would say perhaps sell off the LV's you don't use or don't LOVE anymore (i.e. those you wouldn't mind parting w/) and keep the ones you use/love the most...

I had a bunch of LV mono bags before I started getting into Chanel, and ended up selling a LOT of them because I didn't use them as much -and well, after going Chanel, I couldn't go back. While I DO feel that LV and Chanel are classic brands, in 30 years I'll probably still have my flaps, but really don't see myself still sporting the same speedy (not that it won't still be a classic, I just don't think it will wear as well as the flaps over time and I'll probably need to get a new one)

It will definitely help your Chanel fund, but don't sell anything you think you'll regret. Either way, LV and Chanel are still 2 great brands, so either way you can't go wrong. If you can't part w/ them, just save a little more. At least you'll rest better knowing you didn't do something you'd end up regretting/questioning! Good luck w/ your decision!

Oh geex this is the story of my life. I used to have tons and tons of LV's. Like 20+ LVs.

Once i got into Chanel i started selling most of them, keeping only my limited editon pieces. But now I've even started to sell LE pieces too. LOL

Start slow and sell one and see how you feel....

I used to have a Lot of LVs (more than I used anyway). I sold them all off (except a couple) to fund my other bag purchases and I have to say, despite my love for LV, I don't miss them - not even my Speedys!
I say sell 1 and see how you feel about it. If it's not too bad then you can go ahead and sell 1 or 2 more. Or you can just sell other random things you don't need and put them towards your new Chanel.
As a Chanel newbie (I have 4 and that may be it for a long time) I must say that it's probably prudent to get one sooner rather than later. These price hikes are just insane!

I actually just bought my daughter a LV for X-mas, not a big fan but she is....
Since the bag has been in my house and I've seen my friends 3 year old patina bag I am starting to like the look and the durability of them compared to Chanels for everyday. We now have three!! I baby my bags! So it's nice to have both types of bags. If I had to choose, there is only one choice, CHANEL! They just are like no other!!!! Go with the Jumbo Classic Flap, you will never regret it! But save at least one of your LV. The Jumbos come out every season.

I hv just bought myself 2 chanel last month and I am already thinking of buying yet another jumbo caviar (under waiting list in boutique). I am also thinking of selling of my other LV / COach bags which I no longer used it anymore coz I need to clear away some of the space for CHANELS, CHANELS AND MORE CHANELS.....However, my hubby asked me why I need so many bags. The guys just dont understand !! Dont ever ask why we ladies needs so many bags / shoes or diamond....we are just born to like it haha

I agree, sell some bags you do not use as well as maybe some other items to help fund with saved $$$. I had to sell some bags for my Chanel and it was worth it (for me). I don't think about the other bags anymore and I am not missing them.

Tastes evolve over time and when you once thought you LOVED LV, maybe having a change of scenery will broaden your horizons. I think it is worth doing in the long run. Chanel bags are like a Lexus to me as well. They really hold their value over time.

U have to sell probably those LVs that u don't use (if u have 4, maybe 2 u aren't using it)....then save the rest to buy ur jumbo flap.

i use my chanels most of times anyway

I am on a ban on buying any new clothes or accessories for one reason - to buy another chanel bag this fall. Also, my sister is on the look out in the eBay/resell world to find a vintage changel bag for me. I only have one new chanel bag and I am rotating it with my coaches and LVs - but I am convinced after two months that I am a chanel girl

Before I was hooked on Chanel, I had several LV's. I started with Coach in High School, moved up to LV, and now totally in LOVE with Chanel. I now own 1 LV and that's a Damier because it's low maintenance. I have no regrets with the exception of my white Suhali LeFab. Good Luck in your decision.

I normally don't like the whole selling/buying thing, but Chanel's prices are going up WAY faster than LV's, so I think it might be a good idea to do it and get the Chanel ASAP.
