Hey Loveaddict!!

Congrats on your new portobello!! That red is so beautiful IRL!! You are the same height as I am, and believe me, the bag doesn't look big at all with our height. You know I am using it everyday and nobody told me it's too big for me. I think it's really just how the picture was taken and the angle of the camera. So don't worry about it, ok?

About the hologram sticker, when the front of the bag is facing you, did you check that there's a leather "tab" sticking out on the left side of the bag (the inside gray cloth). The hologram sticker should be there. If not, I really hope that you will find it on the Chanel papers which are stuffed into the bag.

From which store did you order this bag? Are you sure it's the only one left? But I agree that shipping back the bag to Paris is going to be very troublesome. You don't know if the customs is going to ask you to pay tax over there.

Well, this is my thought, if you love the bag, it doesn't really matter if you have the hologram sticker because you're not going to sell it right? And I think you should inform Paris about this missing hologram even though you don't plan to ship it back for an exchange. Ask them if they can put this on record so that in case you need to repair the bag, Chanel boutiques will help even if they don't see the hologram in it.

For that amount of money that we are paying it really sucks when they dont check before sending the bag out. But I agree with some of the girls here, you may love that bag so much that you may not wanna sell it? It sounds really troublesome having to send the bag back and then checking to see that they received it. I called some Chanel in europe before and it really was tiring talking to them, explaining and be nice when half the time they may not hear or understand what are you talking about.

I think that bag looks really good on it, love the color combination as well.

The bag is gorgeous!! and i don't think it's too big for you so don't worry! I agree with Miacillan.. call Chanel and see if they can make in the computer that your bag doesn't have the sticker... If it is the last one and you really love it i would keep it! It seems like they are in very high demand and if you return it there is a possibility you won't be able to find another to replace it.. I hope this helps!!

The hologram stickers seem to detached easily. Like some said it may have stuck onto the bubble/tissue stuffing in the bag. I tried to trace mine too but no luck

Luckily i bought mine personally from the boutique so its not a big worry to me. So should you ok

OK, after reading everything, here is my long winded two cents: Even though I like this bag, it is super trendy, not very classic. If you ever have a change of heart about the style, you will never be able to sell it for what you paid for it if it has no sticker. You will be stuck with it, or take a larger loss than $300 (in total shipping costs). If you feel like you will love this bag forever and are 100% sure about that, then by all means keep it. If not, send it back to the boutique as soon as you can. Before you send it back, take plenty of photos of the bag, and where the authenticity sticker should be but is not, keep copies of your receipt, etc. Call the store and make sure they receive the bag/refund it/give you proof of credit. After your refund or credit is secured, talk to a manager about the shipping charges. If they won't compensate you, continue to take it up with higher managment until you get reimbursed. As a last resort, you could dispute the original shipping charge if you paid via credit card or insist on free shipping for the next purchase.

I know it is only a bag, but it is very expensive and the product should come from the boutique in brand new condition. Let us know what you decide.

^Very good advice Chi, esp about the bag being super trendy. I doubt this tote is going to have a good resale value if one ever tires of it. I thought my (now defunct) Luxury patent tote was classic and in a sense it is, but every seller who sold it on eBay took a loss, unlike the Luxury bowler which a lot of sellers profited on. The style simply wasn't as in demand as the bowler.

By keeping the bag without a hologram you are giving Chanel the control - paying a premium price for a defective bag just because it's the last one in inventory (IMO a brand new bag w/out a hologram sticker is defective). Take back that control and demand a refund, not a store credit. You just received it for goodness sakes!

hi ladies, i am very2 thankful for all your kind supports, now decision time, i have decided to sell it on eBay, i already spoke to my sa in france and she insisted she does not want to cover for shipping etc..and i spoke to the manager who seem love to wash her hand out of this...this is the end of my love affair with this portobello..

i think the main reason i let her go because i cant stand the pain thinking how cruel my sa is...she totally shut me down, and this bag is a reminder of her haha =) so goodbye red bag..hope i wont regret this..
