thanks allbrandspls :) i am feeling a whole lot better now even as i face losing so much money (must have been that pollyanna movie i had recorded on tv).

she is faxing me a receipt, but i think i will ask for a refund regardless as they can easily be faked. my worry with this is that i lose the bag and the money, not that it was worth anything to begin with.

it also depends on what chanel in sydney, new york and mypoupette says. not lookin good though with all the evidence.

good luck, this whole thing is awful!! I never buy from Ebay, I only sell. But now that the PF has the MarketPlaza again, screw Ebay!!!

I had the same problem as you.. recevied a beautiful chanel caviar from an ebay seller as well (this one was recommended by PFers to be good).. and my bag had a YKK zip/.. i was worried too.. BUT.. i went around SYDNEY CHANEL and checked out the classic bags they had there.. some of them had YKK ZIPS.. I SWEAR!!!!! i checked it and felt so much better..

i even took the risk and carried my jumbo caviar into the sydney chanel shop that day and the SA was saying how my bag was gorgeous!!!!

If your creditcard company is good, you shouldn't have a problem. It's considered fraud regardless. All you need to tell your creditcard company is that you never received the item.Goodluck.

oh.. forgot to add that I also checked MANY MANY things on my bag and remembered them.. and walked around the sydney boutique and just checked things off my "check if my bag is right" list.....

and i swear i remembered checking off the "Phew, YKK is ok" .....

i actually walked aroud the store asking to see classic caviar bags. and i flipped open the display pieces and stuff.. one or two of them had YKK zippers exactly like mine..

Yeah.. i still have my bag... I bought my bag from e_hip_shoppe.. i was sceptical at first but the girls on this forum said that e_hip_shoppe was a good seller and they have bought bags from her before.. but I still couldn't be totally sure. So when i received the bag.. i walked into the chanel sydney store with my DH (needed moral support) and figured the worst that could happen is that they will sound me out that my bag is fake, or give me weird stares.. it was a jumbo, so the SAs there saw it...

I remember distinctively that I checked out the YKK zippers in some of the classic bags downstairs.. not all of them had it, but i definitely at least saw one because the YKK is really something I was concerned about...

But after reading this thread.. i'm getting scared too. but I SWEAR i remember seeing the ykk.. let me go ask my DH to see if he remembers what I said about that trip to the store.... but if you're going down there, go flip open some of the display pieces...

oh the problem is ranag claims that e_hip_shoppe sells questionable items too. scroll down to this thread:

eBay Forums: YKK or LAMPO Zippers on CHANEL Classic ...

but if you saw it in store then quite possibly they did use YKK. i spoke to the lovely fredrick (is he the hot french guy the girls on VF keep talking about?

) i forgot to ask him to check for me. and now it's a public holiday tomorrow which will just kill me in the meantime!

OH WAIT!! i walked into the store with my white jumbo.. but the ykk zipper is ONLY on my medium double flap....

i think everyone's "chanel" on the zipper, they are referring to their jumbos that do not have a double flap... only the inner double flap zipper (same colour as the bag) has the YKK..

and my DH remembers that I saw a medium caviar downstairs in the boutique that had a YKK zipper with that odd little folded caviar leather "tassle" thing on the zipper..

did you buy your medium double flap (With the ykk zipper) from the store?

i had my qualms with e_hip_shoppe too.... but i couldn't resist taking the risk...

blkladylaw and michele said that my bags were fine based on the ebay auction

no... the medium double flap i have was also from e_hip_shoppe.. the store hardly ever has the nice colours.. hehe..

but the medium double flaps that i saw at the sydney store.. i think i saw a black one and a dark dark red one (I THINK).. but definitely saw at least one double flap classic caviar with YKK inner zips.

thanks waterfalls! i think the best i can do is wait for tuesday when chanel sydney opens, and tonight when i call up chanel overseas to specifically check medium caviars and those inside zippers and ask them about the box.

the problem with the box i received is that the info was all sliced out, and i only have chanel tags stuck on which i've never seen before (unless this is specific to that store).

so many tears over this i am so tired

remember to ask them to check the zipper that is the same colour as the bag, NOT the silver tags.. alot of the larger and smaller classic flap bags do not have double flaps.. and they might look at the inner SILVER/GOLD zipper and say it's definitely always chanel and not YKK..

and.. the reissues have the EP inner zipper for the double flap....
