ooh, I'm so sorry to hear about this. The seller told you to take it to Chanel and let them do the authentication. And I have to agree with Smoothoprter that it sounds like good advice. If Chanel says that it's a fake, then you know 100% that it is and go from there, file dispute, etc.... If it says it's real, then no harm, no foul. It's scary to buy anything from ebay these days! Hang in there, sweets.

How are the SAs in your nearest Chanel boutique? The ones in Melbourne are okay but not great. I've also heard horror stories about LV SAs being fooled by fakes, so I guess the best thing to do is exactly what Smooth suggested; get them to send the bag out.

I just checked my Jumbo caviars and I cant really make out what the zipper says besides "Chanel". I know there is something etched on the side of the zipper, but cant make it out. I also checked my lambskin classic but the zipper says LAMPO. I'll see if I can try to make out the zipper in a better light.

just spoke to the chanel boutique in 57th street, and they don't have her name on file (still yet to check the other three boutiques).

they also said they can't send the bag to paris for authentication -- this is news to me! btw i am falling asleep and the time difference here in aus is killing me.

if anyone is willing to help just calling up Chanel please pm me, i will be more than happy to reimburse you your phone costs :)

I just called the Chanel Boutique at 139 Spring Street in New York, and they confirmed for me that the bag should not have a YKK zipper.

I hope you can get all of this resolved frayed. That bag looks pretty good to me, but I have only a moderate level of Chanel expertise compared to some other PFers.

I will make this point, though: I would not focus so much on the box and the labels on the box. When I bought my Chanel caviar flap at Neiman Marcus last year, it was the last one they had in stock at the time, and they claimed they could not find the original box, so I have a different box, but I have no doubt about the bag's authenticity. (I understand, now that I've joined the PF, that boxes/labels are often used to help authenticate bags, but sometimes, honest things like this do happen...)

Do not go through Paypal with this bag - you will never get the full amount that you paid back from them. The seller's feedback is too low for this purchase to be covered 100% from Paypal. The seller would have to have at least 50 feedbacks and a minimal feedback rating of 98% for it to be qualified for a full refund.

Do the chargeback straight away, Chanel have confirmed they do not make bags with this zip.

I agree that it is a fabulously made fake - but it is a fake. I trust Chanel's word over this seller's word completely.

And if you need a letter for your credit card company, I would be most happy to write one for you free of charge detailing all the things that are wrong with this bag. I hate seeing people get ripped-off on eBay from sellers like this.
