Default Patent Jumbo

I bought the patent jumbo in a pearly white shade (not sure of the actual name of the shade) mid July from HK. Realised the leather on some links of the chains were peeling. I brought it back to the boutique in Singapore and according to them, they have never had such a problem with the black patent (they dont sell the pearly white one here).

They are in the process of sending the bag back to Paris to see what they can do and it's been weeks!

Anyone else with the patent jumbo had such a defect?

Thanks!

Are you talking about the chain rubbing up against the strap? Or the actual patent peeling off?

Oh no! I'm sorry you're having to go through this!
Are they repairing at no charge? Clearly you just purchased the bag!

I know, I just went down to the boutique today to try to see if I could do anything to expedite the process. Apparently, they normally will do a 1 to 1 exchange. However, because they dont carry this colour in Singapore (which is precisely why i bought it!!), they have to send it back to Paris - which according to the SA will take 3-4 months.

I doubt there will be any charges, and frankly I wouldn't pay for it since I only carried it once before I realised and rushed down to the boutique.

I've checked and this is probably the first case of the patent peeling they've heard of. just my luck i guess

i think that if they would exchange it and they will get you the color you want and you have to be worry free of payin any fee, then i think you should wait, specially if its the bag you love, but 1st make sure about the terms and then agree, maybe its the first case or maybe the 1st case noticeable at sight, hope everything gets fixed even if it takes months but fixed! good luck!

it's just really upsetting since i only carried it twice out before i realised and brought it back immediately

my SA just called today to inform me Paris has finally replied to say it is not a quality issue and thus the best they can do is to just replace the chain. Which honestly i am really fine with since at least it will get fixed but this is really getting frustrating

anyone ever faced the same problem and can maybe advise me as to the steps i can take to expedite the whole process? thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, there probably isn't a whole lot you can do except be super nice to your SA!

The very well-being of your beloved bag lies in the hands of Chanel!

I just sent my bag to the spa and I just got told that it may take 8-10 weeks now - they had originally told me 2-3, but that it COULD be 4-8, so now we're at 8-10.

I just smiled and nodded to my SA - the last thing I'd want her to do is call up and tell the spa to keep my bag as long as humanly possible! (This probably wouldn't happen - but you know what they say "Kill 'em with kindness!")
