No, It doesn't haven't those characteristics as lambskin does. If you love it I would definitely go for it.

Thanks kewave, I thought I was going to like the large better, but once I tried it on both. Jumbo was a better choice for my frame.

bagbury - Good Q! We'll have to wait for other patent owner to confirm about the concern. I've had a patent Anya Hindmarch for 2 years and so far no staining.

peafleut - Thanks for letting us know. How does staining seep though?

Adia, I don't even know what I was thinking... I completely didn't even mention how stunning the purse looks on you, I think I went through the thread to quickly the first time. The color is really beautiful and is really versatile. About the staining I wouldn't worry too much though the blue is pretty deep shade so I should happen- it's really light color patent that's at risk. Why? it happens, I really have no clue why but if you see it its so strange it like a stain underneath the glossy finish. When I saw it was a white patent Chanel a pinkish stain probably something red had gotten to it. But again I wouldn't fret, It looks great on you.

Ari - I was trying to dig things out of my closet but too lazy to get my knitted sweater/cardigans out ... all i can do is this. Wore the boots just for you!

Adia Daphne, yes! it looks perfect - the bag is big enough so you can easily wear it with bulky winter outfits! gorgeous!!

First of all, the bag looks absolutely stunning on you!

I love navy blue patent, but that being said, I only do textured patent (distressed, etc.) Jumbo flaps... smooth patent Jumbo flaps scare me a tiny bit... although in a darker color, I guess it would be okay. If this isn't a concern for you, go for it! Patent is so eye catching and beautiful!

I view my patent flaps (with the exception of my NYMA red patent medium flap - my only "smooth" patent flap) as my more "durable" flaps... comparable with my caviar flaps... and somehow, the smooth patent doesn't fall into the same category for me.

I have the '07A navy patent Jumbo and love it to pieces... easy to wear with jeans, etc., and the textured patent is, IMHO, easier to care for than the smooth patent. Here is a pic (and not a very good one haha):

I use my '07A navy patent e/w as my dressier, going out navy bag, but I would definitely wear my Jumbo with more casual dresses (sweater dresses in the fall/winter, etc). I'm probably the wrong person to ask if the Jumbo works for a dressy outfit, because I always reach for my medium flaps/226 reissues, etc. in those situations.

I'm sure it can work though... a Jumbo is just never my first choice with dressier outfits.

Actually, I think it's the other way around

... I view the textured patent as more durable than the smooth patent. I dunno, I guess the textured patent doesn't show fingerprints as easily and - I try to block this painful memory out of my head - but one time my navy patent Jumbo tumbled out of my hands onto the driveway

... I nearly had a heart attack and almost tripped over myself in an effort to grab it... but, somehow, the bag didn't have a single scratch on it... nothing!

I feel like a smooth patent Jumbo wouldn't have fared so well, you know? I guess I have a thing for textured leathers haha, because my favorite (caviar) is pebbled (textured) calfskin... so textured patent is always my first choice.

I'm strange, I know.

Out of the five patent bags I own, four are textured patent... bordeaux goatskin Jumbo, '07A black patent medium, '07A navy patent e/w and '07A navy patent Jumbo... my NYMA red patent medium flap is my sole smooth patent flap.
