Default One of the link of the chain(classic) is not sealed on my bag. Should I worry?

I have a chanel bag with the regular/classic chain (the chain with leather interwoven). I just saw that one of the link on the chain is not sealed (there's a slight open gap). Do you think I should worry about this? My husband think that it should be fine since there's also the leather holding the bag,not just the chain. And the gap is prety small that the link won't be able to slip out. Any advice or experience? Thanks! I don't really want to send it for repair. I heard that it takes weeks and weeks.....

Can you try to close it with some tool? It will be more secured just in case you carry it a lot and it might stretch in times.

I would return the bag, they are way too expensive these days to accept even the smallest defects.

Thanks guys. I don't really want to return it, it's the only one left.
Should I use a plier? Do you think it's safe? Im scared i would break the chain instead. Any tips how to do it with plier?

I'd have to see a photo to tell you what I think. One some of the classic chains, I know that you can see where it closes but there really isn't a "gap" there at the same time, but it isn't soldered together.

If you do use pliers or something make sure to put some kind of fabric around the link so the pliers don't scratch the silver. I have some links on my cc tote that aren't completely closed, but they have never come apart and I know that was one of the problems with the cc tote.

I used a plier once for the same problem. It didn't hurt the chain but do as Gators suggested and use a small cloth over the pliers.

If you are really nervous about doing it yourself, try taking it to a cobbler. they often fix things like that and would have the right tools.

I think it would be an easy fix if you were to do it yourself. But like others suggested, make sure you put something between the tool and the chain itself.
