Red face Ok Opinions over Diamond stitch and medium flap, what to do?

Hello everyone, i would really love some advice. I was thinking to score a small diamond stitch tote on eBay in new or like new condition, since everytime i see it i *light*up. I love it and i know it would be great to carry around everywhere to errands. I have a Medallion but its pretty stift, and use it for other purposes. I love how the DS is a lil squishy and molds with your body, and i love the whole look of it as well , including the chains! Thing is with these price increases its hard to score the bags you want to have. I KNOW i want to have a flap also. I was hoping to get a DS now as soon as i can score one, and get the flap around winter. But now im wondering if its best to just get the flap now, and forget about the DS( since it would be harder to find later) I know theres new ones coming out, but i only wanted the small one. Any opinions? TIA!

I have both the DS tote and a medium flap and FWIW, I get more use out of the DS. It's larger and more practical for daytime, while I use the flap as an evening bag. Also, my flap is lambskin, which I prefer but it's more fragile than caviar, so I don't use it in certain situations (like if the weather's bad, which is probably being paranoid, but I want to keep it pristine). So if your decision is partly based on how much use you'll get out of a bag, I would recommend the DS tote.

Is the DS tote still available in the boutiques? I am on a quest for a large black DS tote...this is truely my bag. I seem to keep missing them when they pop up on eBay.
I have several flaps which I adore. I would never part with them. But, I know after much searching that the DS tote is for me.

I was lucky enough to get one. It is my one and only and I use it everyday. The only problem with it is that the CC's get scratched really easy. I am very careful with it, but somehow it still gets scratched. This was a great choice for me. Since...I too am having difficulties getting another since the price increases

ps-yes its a bit worn at the bottom edges, its not like I put it on the floor not sure why that happens so easily, I do know it seems like everyone and their mothers brush up against it when they walk by me!.......they can dye that right?

It is gorgeous on you.....I am so jealous Are the straps comfortable? I was wondering if they dug into the shoulder when full since they do not have the leather comfort straps?

lovincollectin- it can be a little uncomfortable at times, but I rarely put alot in it...oh and thanks for the complement I heard someone say on here that they may be getting more in the boutiques..so keep checking. It will be interesting to see what the price is since I paid $1950 for it in November

they can definitely refurbish and if you have a receipt for it and it is less than a year old (or over by just a bit), they will refurbish for new! BTW, you are gorgeous and the bag looks lovely on you!

luvmbj You are gorgeous!! I really do want a DS, but the scratching on the cc's scare me a bit. I really wish they would be bringing the small ds back as well. I guess i will continue my search and get it, and then get a flap after. Or mayve i should just get the jumbo instead of DST. But im only 5'1 so not sure. I will figure it out hopefully!

i have a jumbo flap and a medallion and yes they are both great bags but they are really structured bags. i just purchased a small white diamond tote about a week ago and i love it! it's a great everyday bag and i like how it molds to your body and has it's own shape. i believe that there is only one left in the country and it's a small white diamond tote it's located in a Chicago boutique.

They are both very different bags. One is a classic style that never dies, in fact, an icon of Chanel. BUT the downside is that it fits basically just a wallet, cell phone, car keys and a pack of tissue. If your wallet is short, then perhaps a camera. For the DS tote, it's a different style for Chanel - rock and roll chic meets practicality. Pewter h/w and distressed crackled calfskin leather with a lot of room to spare. I own both of them and wouldn't give either one up for another!
