all my other flaps are reissues so I didn't have anything to compare it to. so those of you who have had your calssic flaps a while, would you say it gets better with wear/use? god, i hope so. OMG - can you imagine what a squeak fest it would be if we all wore our squeaker flap bags to one worldwide tpf meeting??? we'd be heard around the globe

I thought I was the only one who had a squeaky bag! My east/west squeaked, so did my black jumbo. My white jumbo doesn't squeak though! Weird...

This is really the funniest thread I've ever read. I just cant help laughing.
Pay more than 2k for a squeaking bag?
And yet, I am still determined to get a classic jumbo so that we can all have a squeaking party!!!
All in the name of love...

Did you purchase your squeaky purse at an authorized Chanel store?

It is definitely funny. It never really stopped me from using my Jumbos. I got used to it. I found a thread I started on it once.

Is your Caviar chain strap noisey??

This thread is hysterical!! I've not noticed a squeak.....I will listen more closely next time I use one of my flaps!!! I would try one on now but, I wouldn't want to wake anyone up, just in case there was a squeak!!!!!! :)

Mine do also. Some more than others. Since it's a Chanel bag, I overlook it. LOL

I have the chanel caviar small tote that has a zip top. The chain straps of the leather is noisy. Does anyone else have this type of bag with noisy straps?

I don't think the squeak discriminates, if you KWIM? LOL! I used my white jumbo the last couple days, one was at a live butterfly exhibit at the desert botanical garden, one of the curators said "the noise from my handbag" might be scaring the butterflies - I SWEAR to GOD! My MIL and I just about died of laughter!!! I was told to Keep my bag quiet, seriously!

My jumbo squeaks too! I thought mine was the only one that did that! I have a medium caviar flap and that chain doesn't squeak.

Okay, now I'm starting to think my jumbo has a problem because it doesn't squeak at all.

okay guys i think i figured out this mystery accidentally...

i bought a jumbo at bloomies 2 days ago, and when i bought it back and compared it to my east/west flap there was a CLEAR difference. the jumbo was matte, super soft, the sides poofed, and the E/W was shiny caviar and much harder. so i began a hunt for the shiny jumbo that ended today at saks. the SA knew exactly what i was talking about when i asked for the "shiny" caviar jumbo. the chain squeaks like crazy! it's driving me nuts. when i took it home and compared to the matte jumbo, the matte jumbo's chain does not squeak at ALL. it hangs so nicely and softly with ZERO noise. then i realized it makes complete sense - the shiny caviar is noticeably harder and bumpier than the matte caviar, which is much softer...so the harder shiny caviar leather strap rubs harder against the chain and grips on more, causing the squeak....whereas the soft matte leather bends and is more flexible, thus less rubbage.
