The navy w/silver hardware is shiny - I don't remember the gold, but I would imagine it would be shiny also...

According to my SA the navy with gold h/w is matte light gold. I am assuming its the same as the red one. Bethc you are so lucky to get your hands on these beauties. Enjoy!!!

Regarding the question of when did the waitlist begin. For me, I called NY in the summer and the decision on which purse would be the commemorative hadn't been determined. I followed up on a monthly basis and as soon I as learned the red medium was one of the purses, I was waitlisted -- so really early in the process for me.

Don't forget there are more cities and more purses. In retrospect, what a marketing ploy that works til 2010. The exhibit and all expenses are a tax write off so it's a win/win and it keeps Chanel in the limelight. Marketing genius!! But it's great that Chanel has not foresaken the structured flap, the flat hardware in all respects. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
