ITA with this statement. I don't think SAs racking up at sales (especially for their own benefit, not resale) is wrong at all. That perk alone would probably be enough to entice me to work for Chanel! However, if there is a specific hold policy it shouldn't be different for SAs than for regular customers and holding items for weeks or months is a little ridiculous. Also, the SA never should have mentioned that the jacket was on hold for a manager, what did she think releasing that info would accomplish? If it wasn't available for purchase, she shouldn't have said anything else. And then to continue to refuse a sale to a customer because the manager was holding the item for herself is horrible customer service and a complaint definitely needs to be filed. I hope it all works out for you in the end!

hm so if CHANEL staff already get 40% off and there was an extra 60% that would mean she'd get it for free? It seems like they would get fired trying to do that one...

No because it would be 60% off the 40% off price.

I think it is unethical for the SA to hold the coat until there is a further discount and I do not believe chanel would approve of this. However if the SA is sure she wants the jacket and needs some time to get money together I think it is justifiable.

I think bringing the complaint up the latter to the district manager or whomever is not worth it. If it is against policy for the manager to have the item on hold for so long and there is a chance she could loose her job over this would it be worth it for a jacket? Sometimes life's not fair and we don't get everything we want....move on...there are other jackets out there.....

if i had employee discount i'll probably start buying things when they come out.. hmm

60% is a huge discount....It would be thrifty of her to hold the item to recieve the additional money off. Not everyone has money to burn.

Again, 40% for Chanel sales agents? I thought it was 30%?

Heard from a reliable source...

in this case the SA can use a credit card and pay it off in whatever time she wants to... I also think holding it for that long is ridiculous and shouldn't be possible
