I'm sorry to hear that this has happened to you Mon. Could any of us help you in any way. Maybe locating another jacket for you. Maybe post up a pic and hopefully someone on the forum could help you find one???

Another twist to the story...

Thanks to a wonderful PF'er who convinced her SA to help me I was able to purchase the white jacket that was supposedly on hold for a manager (SA said she had to beg and promised to take her manager out to lunch, etc.)

So the white jacket arrives today and it is the wrong one. UGH!
I confirmed the style number with a different SA the day before. I guess I am not meant to have the white jacket of my dreams.

Am still planning to write to CHANEL corporate about the practice of SAs and managers hording merchandise for themselves.

man that's kind of ridiculous!!! isn't 40% off with their employee discount enough? trying to hold it for 4 weeks to get extra off is so absurd...

if i had employee discount i'll probably start buying things when they come out.. hmm

Incredible. What a frustrating story!

Please do write Chanel. It will be very interesting to see what happens from there. I wrote a complaint to the head of NM Direct one time--I was so darn frustrated with a situation and I wanted to share! I was extremely impressed with the way the whole issue was treated and how I was handled. I hope that the same happens with you!

I expect things to go smoothly when shopping at Chanel, not to go through a comedy of errors.

This is all very disappointing.

In general, fashion retail is not the most enjoyable or rewarding job in the world. I say let them enjoy the few perks available!

Is this fishy? (As in suspicious.)

Hi Mon, I'm so sorry that this happened to you!
Actually I'm not surprised, but this kind of things should not happen at Chanel. Do fill a complaint!

Are they gonna send you the right jacket or what? I hope they just don't issue a refund... I want you to get that white jacket so bad

Keep us posted

Thank you. They are issuing a refund. The store manager said that they do not have the jacket I want, that it is a "system error". At this moment I'm kind of "over" the jacket, it's just been too much drama. I'm sure I'll find another jacket that I want just as much in the future.

I thought so at first, but then I thought maybe the first sales associate just saw a white jacket on hold and thought "this must be it" without ever checking the style#
