I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't surprise me that they hold goods for themselves but 4 weeks really sound too much.

^^I just had this happen to me with a bag. The SA actually told me that the Store Manager had it on hold until payday. I was surprised and disappointed. BTW, this was actually with BV, not Chanel.

Really? That news would have knocked me over with a feather two days ago, but I'm starting to see it's probably true.

My SA did a charge send on a different grey jacket that should have been shipped to me on Monday from the Beverly Hills CHANEL boutique. But when he checked yesterday the grey jacket was still showing as available at the Beverly Hills store. He called to inquire about it and was told that they couldn't locate the jacket to ship it to me so I was issued a refund. I bet that grey jacket is also on hold for an employee and that's why they cannot locate it to sell it to me at 60% off.

Hi Debbie. What is BV?

This would not happen at Louis Vuitton. I am told there is a very small window of time when sales associates can purchase merchandise, and then they are not allowed to purchase limited edition items.

I'm not surprised. Just one of the 'benefits' of the job I suppose?! Doesn't make it right though. She's probably waiting for the final markdown and as you said, then her staff discount and whatever other points or rewards she can apply so she can get it at the lowest possible price. I'm sure it's done more often that we think!

Hi Mon, I'm so sorry and so frustrated as well to hear about that!! It's really unfair to clients. Is this a "hidden norm" in the industry? I think maybe you can escalate this to USA head corporate office or even Paris head office? I remember seeing somewhere in this forum about an address which we can write to for any complaints about Chanel. I really can't stand this kind of nonsense. I hope you get your long awaited jacket in the end. Good luck and all the best to you.

Hey Mon, I inquired about that grey jacket too for my mom, and BH told me it is no longer available. They do have a black of the same style.

Hey Sophie, as of yesterday the jacket was still showing as available in their system. If it's gone from their system today it's because the jacket was on hold for someone else (probably an employee). It's so frustrating!

I know a SA who told me,they look at everything that is going into the sales,and choose what they want,and put a side.But to hold for over four weeks,i guess shes waiting to be paid.

Worth taking the job for a couple of seasons?

I still think it's wrong.

SAs should have discount on full price items OR buy it at 'regular' sales price.

If any other customer was to ask to put by sales items for longer than 24 hours I know what the SA's answer would be: "Sorry Madam".

I'm not in love with SA's in CHANEL or BV after reading this thread.

I know Gucci staff can buy Gucci items that aren't even 'out' yet.

I know because I saw it with my own eyes. Months before 'release'. Although I can understand this a bit more because it's 'good advertising'.
