I might be the odd one but...

... I think I'm done with the classic flaps.

I finally got to see red lamb yesterday and eh... I didn't care for it. I also got to see much talked about blue and oh no, it's much darker than I hoped. I think I'll be getting yellow and blue nonetheless, to give to family as Christmas gifts but for moi, I'm done this year with classic bags.

Am I truly the weird one to think 09C red is better than 10C red? Oh well, that's what I thought. This is personal preference I guess but I just didn't like how tomato red looked. Sadly, I no longer own 09C red either, as it did not make my "downsizing to 20 bags" cutline I mentioned in the summer. So right now, I'm on the lookout for a different red bag. And it's not going to be a classic flap. You guys would get to see it at a proper reveal once I get it.

As I was disappointed by the red, I sort of played around with the other red, the patent. But they only had GST and WOC, which aren't exactly my fave styles. I'm afraid the only bag that really had me upto the drool point was the stingray flaps with mlle lock. OMG! They looked so much nicer than how they are featured at Chanel site! But yikes. Of course, such beauty comes with a price and that price was outrageously set at $9000 for the tinsy weensy one that's smaller than my palm.


Now, this is totally no relation to my "rant" above... But I noticed something while looking at 10P runway pics and spotted something that peaked my curiosity. As always, I come with visual aids. Heehee.

And as you can see from the pic on the right, she slips it in into the little leather pouch after she's done "using" the phone.


So this curious mind wondered... Does this mean there's going to be a Chanel phone? Puhahahah~ I mean, I thought why not? There's a Prada phone out there, no?

But then I see another shot of the same model in her changed outfit and voila~ She's spotting another SLG. And inside sleeps the same gold phone.



Sooooo... Although we might have to wait a bit more for a Chanel phone, I guess they are planning to do phone pouches/covers for 10P. Lol. I know they used to have them before but hasn't it been awhile since then?

If anyone hears anything about it, please let me know! I doubt I'd use it myself but I'm thinking they'd make great gifts.

Unless they change the proportions of the classic flaps (size vs chain length) I likely won't be buying any either.

This is the first red flap Japan is getting (as far as I know) so I'm reallllllly hoping it will be delicious.
Is it really not as nice as the 09?

I haven't seen either in real life and red is such a hard colour to risk buying unseen. The last red I saw was I think, the very dark brick brown red a couple of years ago.

Mind you, if it's as bright as the fuschia, then it's not for me. I guess I wait and see and maybe if it's not nice see if I can track an 09 online.

OP, you're not the odd one out. I prefer the 09C red over the 10 red. And I prefer the 05 red over any of these recent reds!

And you're right! Phone pouches would be an excellent gift!

Nah. I don't mind the chain length. Wait. I do always wish mini flaps have longer chains, so I guess I have to feel the same way as you? If I can wear the minis messenger style, I'd probably buy them in rainbow colors.

Hi, Carole! How have you been? Red was pretty. I mean most Chanel bags (but not all for sure, lol) are pretty. It's just what I wasn't looking for, I think. When my SA took it out of the box, I realised the red I like is blue based red, not warmer toned red. Perhaps the lighting in the boutique ruined the color for me a bit but it was definitely warmer red.

You know how everyone talks about wanting a "lipstick red?" For me, lipstick red immediately translates into blue based red. And the red I saw yesterday screamed tomato to me. BUT I only got to see the lamb and it was also a jumbo, which isn't my fave size. Who knows? Maybe I would've liked it if it was a caviar in medium size. (No where in US is getting that though.) Which is Japan getting? Caviar or lamb?

And the fact I'm more of a pink girl than red also didn't help. If they ever do a color close to Hermes rose shocking, I'd probably go out and get every size it comes in.

Did you adopt a pup, btw? Is that an Akita?

I have the 09 red and adore it.I dont like the newer one personally
I have to say im not in love with much Chanel lately and Ive branched off to a few new designers.I have a Lanvin bag that looks like the Chanel baby cabas but is EVEN NICER IRL.and it only cost me 14XX.oo ish.I get better quality these days from OTHER brands,sad to say.I have a couple of chanel items look like CRAP after a few LIGHT uses so i think Im done for now

I have the 09 red and LOVE it. Unfortunately, I haven't seen the 10C red IRL yet, but from what I've read (and the pics I've seen), I think I prefer the 09 red as well. I'm sure the 10C red is gorgeous, but I just think the 09 one is so much more wearable. Don't get me wrong, I think that a bright, fiery red Chanel would be beautiful, but I'm still on the fence about it, so no, you're not alone at all!

I am totally with you on this! I see nothing coming that I like. I have been buying Bal. and LV more. One of my LV is my diaper bag and takes a lot of abuse and still looks new!The Bal bags take major abuse and look even better!!

See, I think I like a blue-red too. But not ever having seen the 09 in the flesh, so to speak, it's gonna be hard for me to compare.

I think we're getting both lamb and caviar - and patent. Got my SA onto it - he's not sure what's what though. I guess I'll see in a month. My wallet will be v happy if it's too orangey And then I'll start looking for a 09 somewhere I guess. I just want a red to finish my collection. I've seen the red I want in a Hermes, but i don't know what it's called. Duh me!


And yes! That's my ickle puppy!!! She's a Shiba Inu, a smaller version of an Akita. She's called Kita, is now 10 weeks old and sleeping on my feet

Honestly, I don't like the lambskin red either.. the caviar red, however, is TDF!!!
