I'm currently in the process of exchanging a pair of 2119 prescription glasses that were too tight for me (I'm still getting them but they're in transit during an exchange for a larger size), and now I'm already thinking about my second pair.

There are two styles that I currently can't decide between...

I like both styles but I want a pair that is different than my 2119 but still stylish.

Here is what the 2119 pair looks like:

I has translucent gunmetal coloured plastic arms, and a gunmetal/dark-silver frame. There's a lighter silver double C logo on the side (it's huge, too)



And here are the glasses I can't decide between:

The first one is CHANEL 2089, silver frame, black arms

Yay:
- love the Chanel symbol
- love the quilted patter on the arms and the little studs
- I like the silver frame

Nay:
- My pair of 2119 Chanel glasses has a silver frame too
- the 2119's also has a gigantic Chanel symbol on the side (should I go for something different?)

The second pair is CHANEL 2096, black frame, dark red arms



Yay:
- this is more simple compared to my 2119
- unique colour, I don't see red glasses around very much
- has a black frame which is different than the silver frame on my 2119's
- has "CHANEL" instead of the double C logo (so they are different than my 2119, which has the double C)

Nay:
- a little too simple?
- does the black frame suit my complexion?

The price difference between the two is only $10 so price isn't an issue.

I've also photoshopped pictures of me "wearing" each pair =P Sorry for the poor quality, and please ignore the little blue mark on the lower left of the glasses frame; they are the seller's watermark.

Sooo...I would appreciate your opinion. I'm looking for more for which pair looks best on me, and which pair would be more different than my pair of 2119's.

I like the black frame on you more, but I like the style of 2089. Does 2089 come with black or other colors & not silver (sth. different from your 2119)?

Funny that I've been thinking of 2119 style too. Does this model tighter than normal glasses? I'm not sure if I should buy online. There's no Lenscrafter in NS & not sure where I can get to try.

ceci, I think I look better with the black frames too, and no, the 2089 doesn't come with black frames If it did, the 2089 would've won already. I think I'm leaning towards the black frame so 2096 is winning in my mind, but if I didn't have the 2119 already I would get the 2089.

The 2119 comes in 51 and 53 size and I would say the 51 is a bit tight unless your face is really narrow. It has spring hinges on the arms so it would still fit, but I don't like my glasses tight so I am exchanging them for the 53. The arms are thick (both the width of the arm and the width of the plastic used for the arm) so I think it's a tighter fit than most glasses. I have a pair of at-home glasses that are size 51-18 and the Chanel ones (they are 51-16) feel MUCH tighter than the glasses I already have.
