Unhappy Got the pink metallic, but ~~~~

Hi, I got the pink metallic bag from BG today. It is still very gorgeous and so unique.
I am very much conservative when it comes to colors. I always wear something like grey, black, navy or brown.
I can carry this pink metallic bag with black and navy clothes nicely. However, Should I return it to BG and get a grey 2.55 or black gold hardware 2.55 if i can get it?
I need to decide before the weekend, so I can drop it at the dept store.

This bag was apparently purchased by a person in July and she or he returned it last weekend. Thinking about the fact that this bag was sitting in someone else's closet for alomost 3 months made it look not so charming as well.

What should I do?

I really like the metallic pink but I think it would bother me knowing that someone else had it for three months.

i would keep it. as long as when you got it the condition was just good as new. I like the metallic pink - IMO it' not very girly pink but kind of neutral. It'll be something different and definitely go great with the conservative colors in your closet. Congrats!

I agree that the pink is a nice and refreshing change to the colors you're used to. And it appeared that that bag was in a good enough condition for you to have bought it in the first place in person. If that's the case I don't think it matters if the bag was "sitting in someone's closet"; however, if you're really very much bothered by that fact, then perhaps exchanging it for another new pink bag would be better.

If you are having second thoughts, then I would go back over the weekend and take a look again at the other colors. You can't go wrong with any of the ones you are looking at, they are all gorgeous, but get the one you feel the most comfortable with. If the pink metallic is not making you 100% happy, take it back, if is an expensive purchase. I had no clue stores would take back a bag after 3 months.....H

What clues said the bag was purchased 3 months ago? When I make a purchase, I'm not aware if or when it was previously purchased & returned. Scary thought.

If you're not 100% happy with your purchase, you should definitely return it. It's too high a price to pay if you know that nagging bit of information in the back of your mind. Athough I think the pink is gorgeous (make sure you won't have any regrets when you return it b/c it'll be difficult to purchase later on as it's not a continuous line), the brown is a beautiful alternative as well. Pick the one you're most drawn to & fits your lifestyle.

It sounds like you do not 150% love the bag you brought home...if so, then take it back. It is a lot of money to buy something you think you should buy just because....but reality is....if you don't love it totally, you will not ever be totally thrilled with it.....you will choose other bags over it on a daily basis and end up not using it as much as you should. You should be totally excited and thrilled about it...if you loved it then taking it back would not even be a consideration. But, since you are questioning the purchase and not sounding "proud" about it....then, it doesn't sound like it is 'you'. As I read your comments, I am thinking you bought a bag just 'cuz you could....not because you reallllllly love it! And, there is a huge difference! Think about it. I'll bet there is another bag that is screaming with your name all over it! Don't forget to write the end of your story---I'll be watching for it......

i the met pink/dk rose & i wear mine with black, chocolate, navy, mauve, gray ~ it really is such a versatile color

however, when in doubt maybe it's not for you

in the UK our return policies are much stricter & i must confess when ordering from the US i always ask for a fresh bag as i've seen quite a few obviously used bags in the stores there, at NM in particular

I just went to the Chanel Ala Moana yesterday and they had the dusty pink metallic reissue and the black matte reissue with gold hardware. If it bothers you that the pink metallic was pre-owned, you can order a "fresh" one from the boutique here.

If you wear mostly neutral colors thats all the more reason to have a pink bag. If you wore a lot of colors it prob wouldn't work out so nicely. I recently branched out with a royal blue goyard bag (hardly far from a neutral) and it was a big step for me! I realized that we who wear a lot of neutrals can pull off colored bags the best because our clothes won't clash! I think that the grey reissue will blend too much with your clothes, black is a great classic though. If the pink is the "color" reissue you like best I think you should keep it. If not get black.

Most likely I will keep the bag , but I am still so into a black 227 reissue with gold hardware. My SA at BG told me that the black is so much easier to get any time. She is going to redo the transaction so i can get the BG gift card from this weekend.
Hm.... Too many pretty bags to choose from.
Everyone going to BG this weekend?
I am going tomorrow.

I think it will go with all of the colors you said you wore. It would look fab with grey and brown also imho. Do post pics if you can. The key thing is you have to love it with no reservation, imho, when you pay that much.

^The fact that you're questioning the color choices means youre not in love with it and the fact that you brought up the previous owner and Pink Metallic sitting in closet since July is another flag to RETURN IT. And get another Chanel you won't regret the purchase of. Only my two pennies worth. Good luck with your decsion!
