First Chanel - Classic Flap or GST?

I'm having a hard time deciding which one to get - the medium classic flap or the GST. This will be my first Chanel bag...anyone have any suggestions? I'm more of a casual/dress down kind of person and am pretty small. Can anyone tell me how much they both cost as well?

both bags are great for dressing casual or professional chic. BUT i think the classic flap would take you one step further and allow you to dress semi-formally with cute dresses and what not. But I must say the GST looks really cute with a trench coat! =P

The GST is $2125 I think and the medium flap in caviar is $2350. & It depends on how much you need to carry. They're both fab.

I say go for the classic flap

Although if you're a dress down type of person maybe the GST would be better for everyday use

I had the same dilemma when I was deciding which to get too! I think that the GST is a little more functional since it can hold more and it has a more casual look to it. That being said, it can be dressed up although it is quite a large bag for a dressy occasion. But if you were only ever going to buy one chanel I would say the classic flap because, well, its classic!
I decided on the GST for my first bag, and then later got the flap too! and I love them both. Good luck deciding!

Flap would be my choice. I like flap more than the tote style.

I'm not a flap girl, I'd go for a GST if you're normally casual and tend to favor totes.
If you're very petite a PST may be better though.

i'd go for the flap coz i'm not a fan of the GST.

do you have a boutique near you? maybe you should try both on and see which you prefer?

My first Chanel was a medium calssic flap in lambskin and I bought it for special occasions because as an everyday bag it's to small for me. I recently bought the GST and I absolutely love this bag because it holds a lot, looks classic but a bit more casual. I definetly use the GSt more than the flap but this I knew before.
You best buy the bag which you plan on using more.

dpends what you carry, i think a tote its better, and ive heard GST its like somewhat heavy and bulky at some times so i think its better if you go PST, i like PST its cute and i would say classic flap later, or medallion too in case you want a more sturdy bag but also very cute.
