Default did anyone ever persuade a chanel SA to give them discount

Hmm, not a question to ask up here right? I know SA will get in trouble if it becomes known. They are supposed to use it themselves but not supposed to give it out.

However.....

I WANT the purple flap now. can't quite afford it. so that is why I ask

Did any of you ever manage to persuade your SA to give you employee discount?

Thank you in advance guys! let me know who the sa is or what boutique. Well, if that makes you uncomfortable, just let me know if you ever managed. (just to satisfy my curiousity)

do PM me rather than post, if posting will get your SA in trouble

Thanks!!!!!

I've never heard of anyone being able to get an employee discount on bags. I think that's probably against their store policy, as they could get in a lot of trouble for that (unless maybe your SA also happened to be related to you and could do it under the table).

I know that there are some department store SA's that can pull strings to give discounts on the J12 watch. I have never heard of them being able to give discounts on bags though, let alone a bag like the purple flap that is hard to find AND new.

The only time I've heard of discounted bags is if the bag was somehow slightly damaged.

^ITA, no offense.

They can get in a lot of trouble for that, so like I said, you'd have to be really close to them to get them to do that. Besides, I'm sure there are limitations on what they can buy with their employee discount.

I know for a fact that SA's at Chanel boutiques are not allowed to use their discount on new season bags (like the purple flap the OP wants).

Not sure what the policy is for department stores. I'm sure that none would give a discount on bags that aren't damaged, because if they give a discount to one person, there will be so many other people expecting discounts. I'm also sure they're limited as to how many things they can buy with their discount, especially with a limited brand like Chanel.

Your best bet if you want a discount is to go to a department store like Saks and open a credit card to get at least 10% off your first purchase. Or wait for special promos like their EGC event.

I think I'd be too embarassed. I do persuade them to not charge tax (they send it as a gift to another address). But that's as far as I go. Its a Chanel bag, not a used car. Im usually happy with that.

you could always ask them for a freebee, they might give you some earrings of perfume for eg, which you could them sell on?

I got a free bottle of no 5 with a diamond ring purchase.

I am really close to my SA, have used her for years, but I would never even think of asking this of her. With daughters and daughters in law, I am sure her discount is put to good use. As a Realtor myself I highly respect other SA's perks and discounts.H

I am pretty tight with my sa but I would never ask her for a discount. I wouldn't even think of it. I have to say, why would you do this? I really don't mean to be rude but why would you deserve a discount just because you can't afford what you want? This wouldn't work anywhere else so why do it at Chanel?

My advice would be to wait for a gift card event or something at Saks so that you could get some money back that way. Or you could open a store credit card if Chanel is included in their 10% off or whatever that discount is. Other than that, I wouldn't dream of asking this of an SA.

If you need to ask an employee for a discount, you probably shouldn't own the bag. No, I can't even imagine asking my SA for a discount!

That must've been a big diamond ring. ???

ASK for something for free? You have to be kidding! Like, "Come on, why not throw in a pair of earrings?" This is Chanel, ladies, not a used car dealership!

Re: freebies. Sometimes you don't need to ask -- something may be offered (I've never asked). I've received perfume before too.

I usually will never ask my SA, however just lately i asked my Saks SA if he could match the discount that nordie give us. so instead of 30%, lets go with 40%. lol. and one sa could do it, the other could not ( shoes, not bags). and sometimes i ask for free shipping since i bought many fr them. but thats all. i never ask regular boutiques SA for discount because that will be impossible and pretty embarrasing.
