Please help. I am in the process of finding the 2007 chanel clutch (diamond stich with the gunmetal cc closure on top). Ebay as been my resource. Before I buy, did this come in lambskin and caviar? Any tips would be appreciated. Thank you.

to be safe, just buy a chanel purse directly from CHANEL stores, NM, Saks...

the reporter bag i got from ebay has phillips screws not flat, does that automatically make it a fake?
plus the top of the bag (where the zipper is) is soft not stiff like the pictures (or flat). It relaxes and crunches and doesnt stay regit....
what do u think?

I haven't been on the forum in ages because I've had some health problems. I hope to catch up on some forum reading in the next little while.
Although it's been said many times I'm sure, I'd like to say it again - especially for the Chanel newbies. If you're planning to buy a Chanel bag, buy brand new from an authorized dealer if at all possible. Even though I've been a die-hard Chanel fan all my life, I had to wait until I was nearly 50 to buy my first Chanel bag. I paid full price to buy new at a Chanel boutique & absolutely treasure my first purchase. Then I caught wind of all the "deals" on E-Bay and thought "Wow, here's a way I can own several Chanel bags and stay within my budget". I was sure I knew what to watch for and started scouring the deals. I ended up buying 5 more bags, but it turned out that one of them was a fake!
Even though I got good deals initially, and 4 really great authentic bags, the money I lost on the one fake made the other deals not so great in the balance. By the time I was able to confirm that I had a fake, the E-Bay seller had closed their account & I had no recourse. Although the fake looks quite authentic, and most people would never know the difference, I know, so that bag just sits in my closet... even though it's the one style I most wanted.
I learned a lesson from this experience and have vowed to only buy from an authorized dealer from hereon out, just to be 100% sure of what I'm getting. Have a great day everyone. Happy Shopping!!!

Well, if you own CHANEL bags, when you see a fake one even if it's on internet, you should be able to tell if it's a fake one or not. Because the picture of an authentic CHANEL is quite different from a fake one, it is higher quality leather and you can tell everything is right. Fake ones usually have same serial numbers even for different style. You should always ask for the serial number and browse more often on internet.

actually, it's not always obvious.
Also, the serial number doesn't mean much as most fakes have them.

If you have a tried and true tip we'd love to hear it!
