^^Here is an example of a FAKE bag with the stamp on the top right CC:

How do I know it's fake? The authenticity card should not be wrapped in plastic and it should never give off a rainbow hue:

Do not be alarmed if you see a YKK stamped zipper on your medium or large classic flaps. The classical colours (black, white, beige etc.) use an EP stamp, the seasonal colours use YKK. We don't know how consistent this is yet (e.g. we don't know if classical colours can use YKK or if ALL seasonal colours use it) BUT we have noted YKK zippers on:
  • 2005 Red Caviar - Medium
  • 2006 Coral Lambskin - Large
  • 2006/2007 Violet Lambskin - Large
  • 2006/2007 Bleu Fonce Lambskin - Large
Be aware that this is new knowledge, and Chanel have given some conflicting information regarding the use of YKK zippers, in particular to those who post on the eBay boards. I have seen the YKK zippers myself in the Sydney boutique, and this was confirmed in the Melbourne boutique (Australia).

If double checking yourself, I suggest going into the store. Otherwise if you call your SA make sure to ask them to check:
  • Medium or Large Classic Flaps 2.55 in a SEASONAL colour, Jumbo or East-West will not have two flaps.
  • The zipper on the inner flap, which should be the same colour as the bag
This information has been verified by Khai, Smoothprter, waterfall, loveone7 and ofcourse myself.

Posted are inner zips with EP on the classic colour white, and YKK on the seasonal colours.

Is it possible that there are other zippers beside YKK and EP? My black med classic lambskin has "DMC".

Thanks Beautylicious!

I saw some classic flaps on eBay that don't have "Made in France" or "Made in Italy" under the logo and copyright sign, is it a standard that there is always the logo with Made in France right under it?

Just want to clarify, not all jewellery have the oval tag.

Brought this earring from Chanel Boutique in Australia recently, there is no tag on earring or what so ever and the SA told me it is too small to have them. HTH

Just so everyone knows, I have bought Chanel costume jewelry from the boutique, and sometimes they'll give you a plain box, a box that does not have the style number or picture of the jewlery.

So far all my costume Chanel jewlery has always had the authenticity symbol on it, even on very small pieces.

No, that's not a standard. Especially on the older flaps you will find the Chanel trademark on one side and the Made in France/Italy on the opposite side.

^^ In this case you can tell by the zipper pull. This type of zipper pull was never used by Chanel. The Chanel Made In is also incorrect.
