Hologram hint..... Beware of sellers who tell you a bag is new or just recently purchased when the hologram tells you otherwise. For example, if the seller recently said they purchased the bag, but the hologram begins with an 8 than there is a good chance the bag may be fake.

Also beware of holograms that end in 5454 because this number has been mass produced on fakes.

Ensure that the "Made in France" or "Made in Italy" is properly aligned under Chanel on the interior tag.

What is this MADE IN PARIS STAMP is not legit.. The bags that smoothoprter has both of them say MADE IN PARIS. So clarify that for me..

she's refering to the MADE IN _____ embossed under the Chanel logo, not the Chanel Paris on the hardware.

The hardware says "CHANEL" and "Paris" but it doesn't say "Made in Paris".

I have received a Chanel bag where the chain and tassel were wrapped in white tissue paper. You might see that in an auction, however, very rarely. I also agree that I have never received one with plastic on the handles.

I think that the white dustbags and care cards with the gold on them are often signs of fakes in current bags such as the Cambon line or more recent styles. Perhaps the fakers never did an update to the current dustbag and care card.

I would beware of buying a Chanel bag in a place that you aren't for sure that its real unless real is not what you are looking for. I just bought my first Chanel bag last month from Saks and I received a black dust bag with Chanel written in White.

^yes, all new Chanel bags come w/ black dustbags w/ white lettering.

they have new silver dustbags.. any 05 and up shoe should have silver dust bags.. not white or black

I disagree - i have summer 06 sandals and fall 06 boots (both from chanel boutiques) and both came with the black shoe bags..........

The sport line comes with silver dustbags and the regular line has the black bags.

Here is a "duh" question. Where do I find the hologram mentioned in this thread. I have a authenticity card for each of my bags and wallets they all have a serial number on them. The only thing that looks like a hologram is on the back of the card, top right of the serial number. Thanks for your patience w/ my dumb questions. If I did not post this in the correct thread Amanda will have to "Swank-ercise" me! LOL

OK here is my step by step process~~~~

1. Empty handbag completely
2. Find the strongest glasses in the house and put them on
3. Turn handbag in every imaginable direction
4. Found that little "booger" ( that is a southern word ) hiding in the tiniest corner on the bottom left front compartment of my GST!

Speaking of dustbag, back on 96 I purchased 1 bag at Saks Jandel and another 1 at Neimann and they all came with whites. I couldn't recall if that mini classic flap was Chanel 96 collection or not, but the backpack one was indeed its 96 collection. Then, might be all 96 collection were still came with white dustbags & was the last era for whites. Starting 97 - onwards, anywhere I purchased they all came with blacks; unless purchase an older collection that still available.

I know for sure that the black cambon's and some white cambon's have fuchsia (hot pink) lining. There are some white cambon bags that have white interior lining. Are their any black cambon bags that have black lining?

The green cambon have bags have orange lining.
