Default Cobalt blue or Red Caviar... and how to wear new blue? help please...
Hi ladies,

I'm pretty new here, I now own 4 chanel bags (east/west, medium, mini, jumbo....and they are all in black), 1 long wallet and a pair of sunglasses....

I now have a huge difficult time with what to choose....
I've ordered jumbo size in red and cobalt blue colour

Since I have all the black, so i try to get out of this boring one (but easy to wear)... I mainly wear dark colour ex: black, gray, beige, brown, purple, a bit of red (only a bit) or jeans...

I wonder which one should I really go for between red and blue...someone told me the red is easy to get compare to the blue (really?) as chanel always have nice red coming out all the time, most of them are wearable,... but the blue one is harder to find and could be a rare find or very stunning... (but then , is she the right one for me.... )

and also another big question is... blue, is it easy to use or get along with my other cloth? And how to wear blue and look nice? Do I need new clothes or what type of accessories or things i should put it together to make that blue bag be a part of my outfit (not jumping out from the whole scene).....

My problem is now I like the new blue so much, but I'm not sure if i can wear her??????? so if i get guideline or idea how to wear, may be i can choose if i should go for her or not...

Any comments, photos, or suggestions will be highly appreciated :)

I am in your same boat, darkchoc. I have 9 black Chanel bags and my clothes are very similar in color to yours. So, I too am having trouble figuring out how to wear and work the cobalt blue into my wardrobe. With this in mind, I would probably go for the red caviar. I have a red Chanel In and Out flap and really love it with my clothes. The cobalt is very beautiful but if you think you might be afraid to use it out of fear of looking out of sorts, that would be sad and a waste of money. Both are beautiful though so good luck and let us know what you decide.

If your wardrobe is neutral than you can wear blue as a pop of color. I personally think red and blue are neutral colors, even if they are bright. Can you wait to see the bags in person before you buy it? I love to add a red bag to boring outfit to make it vibrant. It all depends on how you carry yourself.

Hmm..I've always liked red...05 red is probably the winner here....I know I'm going to get shot for this but I am not a big fan of the cobalt..I'm all for *pops* of color but royal blue has never been a color that has worked for me..probably because that shade of blue would be impossible for my wardrobe to match...if you want blue..maybe wait for the peacock blue to come out in different styles or..uhm...wait for a teal..or even a Navy? Navy is pretty neutral, but beautiful nonetheless!

If you wear mostly black clothes, you can definitely carry any colorful bag for a pop of color. Put on at least one accessory in the same or complimentary (or even contrasting!) color as the bag, eg. shoes, hair accessories, jewelry, belt, scarf etc... and you're good to go!

I totally agree! I chose cobalt blue myself. Still wondering if I should try to get my hands on a nice red just because it's a nice red... but the cobalt blue is amazing! And I think you will find there's lots you can wear it with. Maybe in addition to thinking about what to wear cobalt blue with, think about what you would wear red with that you definitely would NOT wear the cobalt blue with and see what you come up with.... might help you decide. I think you should go for the blue because it's so yummy. Good luck!

If you have to choose between the red and the blue, I would go w/ the bright blue from the upcoming cruise line.

I was also wondering what I could wear that blue with. I've come up with all black, all white, white top w/ blue jeans, or black top w/ blue jeans....still thinking of other options. So I'll be interested to see what some of the other girls come up with.

Oh, and you may be able to find a dress or top w/ just a hint of that blue in it. Good luck!

Blue will be nice with white shirts and jeans; all black outfits or grey. I love the blue and grey combination...something different...my two cents worth.

Ooh, do you think the peacock blue will come out in different styles? I'd love a caviar flap in that color...or teal would be great too!

I'll definitely go for cobalt blue. it should go with black, gray, purple and red. Just avoid brown, khaki, any muddy, earthy colours. do you have a lot of clothes in those colours?

Oh dear C! I too wear the same kind of clothes as you and I have my Cobalt blue on the way ... selling 2 of my bags to fund it. And like you I am a little worried that it might not go with my wardrobe and that it would be too loud for me.. Oh dear.... worried now....

C, I have the 09 Red and it is not too bright at all. In fact I think it is pretty neutral... just gives a subtle bit of colour to any outfit! I haven't seen the 10C Red yet but everyone says it is brighter. I would suggest getting an 09 red. It is very very very wearable.
