Well could you put her in the car, not tell her where you are going and drive to the closest Chanel boutique and let her choose? I am sure she would enjoy the surprise and she certainly would have fun modelling all of the purses. I don't think that woud take the romance out of it.

Then treat her to a fab sexy lunch and have some wine......

haha! So does mine! When he mocks this forum I remind him of the forums he's on for motorcycles and cars and he quites up pretty quickly!

Your wife is so lucky and she will honestly love whatever you get her- who wouldn't!? If you know she definitely wants a going out bag I'd go for the medium flap in lambskin with gold hardware since that's the epitome of Chanel and what comes to pretty much every girls mind when they think of a quilted bag. But if she wants to use it alot, I agree with the other girls- caviar is definitely the way to go.

You're so sweet! This is one gift she is going to have and cherish forever.

Ha Ha, wth all this advice are you sure that you don't want a Pfrm entourage to come and buy the bag for you, check for leather sheen, authenticity cards, loose stitching and gift boxing etc Seriously though you came to the right place to ask for advice rather than being pushed into buying some overpriced bag by a pushy SA. Good luck in your purchase, do keep us posted on how it goes!

Done--medium/large flap in black caviar, gold hardware. Not too adventurous but classic. Hard to believe that was before the price increase!

At any rate, if I wake up with a big on my face on the morning of Dec 26th, then all of your suggestions will not have been in vain. I'm grateful for all the help.

Your wife will be thrilled. Personally I would have gone with a Jumbo (more versatile both day & night) but I'm sure she'll be thrilled.
