Classic chain bag sizing. Please help!!!

An acquaintance is offering to sell me her gently used small Chanel classic chain bag she bought about a month ago. It's the double strap/chain handle one. However, the measurements of her bag is about an inch bigger all around than one my friend has which she bought about a year and a half ago. I know for a fact the one my friend has is real cuz I went to the boutique with her to buy it. Both bags are the small model. My question is, does Chanel change the measurement of its classic models. I'm a little weary about buying the bag because I only know this acquaintance through a work friend and I'm not sure if hers is the real deal. Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

You can ask for pics of the bag and post it at the authentication thread. The ladies there are very helpful!

Get pics, post them here and you will find out for sure if it is indeed the real deal...

(How are the measurements being taken? Sometimes the way one person measures is a little different than others. For example, someone might measure the bottom of the bag for length, whereas the middle portion might be a little longer..)

I don't have photos but I've actually put the two bags next to each other and that's how I noticed the size difference. I'm new to this but I had just assumed the same model would be the same size.

Are you sure it is the same model? Did you check the model codes? I know the difference in size between the Small/Medium and the Medium/Large is about one inch. However, the names for the bags changed a bit hence the /'s

You 'll have to show us pics before we can tell you if it's real or not, post them at the Authentication thread.

And to note, medlarge classic flap is 10inches across, and small classic flap is 9inches across.

i think the medium and the large size is only one inch difference. so that may be the case. i was at the chanel boutique recently and i remember that the A01113 and A01112 is only approximately one inch difference. :)
