Hi Ladies, I was wondering if I can get some opinions on this. I am about to go on a Mediterranean Cruise and I would like to take a Chanel jumbo or GST with me. What are your thoughts or opinions on this ? Is it safe, will I be able to store it safely on the ship? All opinions are much appreciated!! TIA

I think you should be fine. As long as you don't venture anywhere shady or where they might try to extort you. If anything I'd feel safer if my bag was cross body.

Thanks !! I didn't even think about mugging ( now I am :) . But I was mainly concerned about leaving it on the ship, while I am out for the day.
I can def. wear a jumbo as a crossbody.

I wouldn't. :/ unless you can hide it in a suitcase that locks safely. That's what I do with my purchases in hotels. Don't even bother to risk it.

I was just on a Mediterranean Cruise last summer and brought my Chanel Jumbo Flap. I carried it around ports in Italy and Greece and never felt unsafe. I didn't lock it up in the room or anything and it was fine. I just kept it hidden in my bag. You might want to just lock your suitcase. However, I would pack it on your carryon when you travel as I had my Prada bag solen from my checked luggage. Have a good trip! We liked our cruise so much that we are going on another Celebrity Mediterranean cruise this summer! I will be bringing both my Flap and GST.

I took my Chanel Reissue to cruise before, and never feel unsafe. As long as you lock it in your suitecase when you're not use the bag should be fine.

I've done that with my jumbo flap. it all went fine. no damage and I don't baby my bags but be careful with them. you will be fine :)

I took 3 Chanel's on a Med cruise 2 yrs ago. I wore them all over Italy, France and Spain leaving them in room safe when not wearing them.

Thanks so much ladies, you made me feel so much better and more confident about taking the bag on the trip :). I think I will just take Jumbo as I am also taking a carry on LV and a Balenciaga. So I think I am set ! Thanks again !!!!

I took my GST for a London and Eroupian Tour and it stand pretty well. Anything that is valuable, I kept them within the zipper compartment. However, it get a bit heavier since I stuff a lot into it- such as water bottle, snack etc- since as you are probably aware when you are in Europe you tend to walk a lot. Wish you a fun and safe trip.

I always take my M/L when I travel. It's perfect for nights out and nice daytime looks, I've never had any issues or bag injuries lol

Does the M/L do a cross body? Or is that a jumbo? Do you have a single or double and which do you prefer? I figure double for safety. I am trying to decide between a caviar m/l or jumbo for everyday and night bag. I don't carry much either except maybe a mini umbrella or small can of bug spray.

I don't think you can wear an m/l
Cross body. You can wear it single strapped but it's still not long enough for a cross body wear. With the jumbo you can. Hth.

Oh really with a jumbo you can wear it cross body? That's good news :)

I was thinking of taking GST first, but I know what you mean about it getting kind of heavy once you put several things in. It's plus is that it is very roomy, but I think for a comfort level I will take Jumbo, I know myself, I will get tired of carrying it on a shoulder and then complain :).
