dleesy: Last weekend i was in KL and no point of buying anything there as things were horribly taxed! And I can't get my tax back unlike in SG. Since I'm not going to Paris anytime soon *Hahahahh*, so the cheapest place is SG, then 2nd comes HK? Correct me, if you don't mind.

Btw, I'm from Brunei...so both places are easily reached my airplane (2-4hours) to get my fixation of luxury goods.

If no EGC, no discount from opening an account at Saks or Bloomies, or any promotion then Europe is still the cheapest. Because of the current exchange rate, the different is not that much.

Here's the price from Paris, you can convert to USD
Jumbo Flap EU 1,740
GST EU EU 1,390

also you get tax refund about 12-16% when you're out of Europe.

In my experience it would be at Heathrow Airport T3 and T4 as its always 15% off

I agree... I bought the modern chain in Paris and when I was flying out of Heathrow, I found out I could've saved another $50 after the VAT refund!! The boutique in Heathrow already excludes the VAT and even with the crappy exchange rate it ended up being cheaper than Paris.

What country price wise (exchange rate, retail price + sales tax / duty etc) is the best to buy Chanel in - France, US, Hong Kong, another country?

It'd be great to hear from the experts...

they said that its the best to buy in Paris then HK but I did my math and London is the cheapest to buy IMO even it has a high exchange rate against our money. Esp. if you buy in heathrow airport its tax free soo cheap

That's helpful. I actually live in France in the Euro zone so maybe should try Paris. It's just that I have read in the media (herald int tribune for eg) that people from here and the UK fly to NY to buy European designer goods because they have a cheaper RRP and the currency exchange rate is so favourable. But you think Heathrow is best? I wonder if Charles de Gaulle Paris has a Chanel shop as I am flying from there to HK and Oz soon. I live in the South of France - not near any Chanel shops though!

ITA! Buying in GBP saved me more money than euros. For me, the cheapest would be UK, followed by the states. Paris isnt at all cheap to me... i guess it all depends where u r from? *puzzled*
