Default Which Chanel Boutique and SA in NYC did YOU like?;)
I'm going to NYC in about 2 weeks to get my FIRST Chanel bag
I googled for Chanel boutiques and there are quite a few including the ones within department stores.
Could you recommand me a boutique and also SA if you've had a good experience when you were getting your Chanel bag in NYC?
I'm looking for a boutique with many different kinds of 'flap bags' of different material, (I saw this woman carrying a Chanel patent flap bag that I've never seen anywhere online or in magazine and it was soooo beautiful!) and for a nice SA who can help me with patience!
Thank you, everyone!

Yes, the 57th Street boutique is great. Christine is my SA. Very nice and VERY patient.

Actually, I think the staff at Madison Avenue is a lot better than 57th Street. The store manager, Doug Turner, was kind enough to give me a dust jacket for the Mobile Art purse that wasn't sent to me w/the purse (which came from 57th St.). When I called 57th Street, they said they would send it and they never did. When I went to NYC for the MA Exhibit, I stopped at Madison Avenue. All I had to do was ask and it was presented to me with some Chanel books. There is also the fine jewelry collection at Madison Avenue --talk about take your breath away!!

(In sum, one humongous vote for MADISON AVE!)

A second vote for Madison Avenue. Compared to a certain male SA at 57th (not Brendan) I felt like I was given a very hard sell, something like a used car salesman last year. A horrible experience while window shopping. It was such a bad feeling that I couldn't bear the thought of ever boutique shopping again. However, I got to Madison Avenue and it was a totally different experience. I bought a Mobile Art bag (which evil 57th SA told me didn't exist outside his store) from the lovely Sales manager Stephanie. With no shipping nor sales tax (no Chanel in my state.) This was my first and only boutique experience. I would definitely visit Stephanie again, next time I visit NY.

Madison is cool.

But my favourite is Soho, mainly because they let me browse and try on stuff without forcing me to buy anything. I did order a brooch which they transferred all the way from Hawaii for me?!?!

I get pretty rubbish service from 57th St but I blame this on me not looking like a rich NY lady or knowing any SA.

hard sell at 57th. if anything i feel like those folks stand back and watch a lot... and someone here recently had a story where her husband went in when no one was there and was ignored!!!! interesting. but good to know you all have had good madison avenue experiences. i have never purchased anything there but the sa i did talk to when i was in one time was super nice and helpful. thinking it may be time to go back!!!
