thanks for the heads up.

After getting burned on eBay with fakes, I just cough up the extra cash at the boutique.

I was just sick and tired of doing all the research and whatnot to get a bag. But thank you for this very intereasting information.

Had I not clicked on this thread and went on eBay to peek, I wouldn't have caught these faults!! thanks again

Buyers also need to become more educated about what they are spending their hard earned money on. It amazes me that so many people who shop on eBay are completely oblivious to the fact that they can buy most of the bags being sold in either a boutique or department store, oftentimes for LESS than what the sellers are asking. I have even come across people who have no idea what a charge send is, and that they don't have to resort to ebay and risk getting scammed when they can call a store and order over the phone.

While I would love to see Bloorstreet shut down and thank Nathalie for the alert (hopefully this thread will bring her a lot of negative publicity with the amount of hits tPF gets on a daily basis), I can't say I have much sympathy for her buyers who think they are getting an authentic bag based only on her positive feedback.

I think she was refering to posting on the eBay website as they have a handbag discussion there too?

^I do, I feel bad for them. Just a few years ago I could've easily bought from her, before I got educated here.
It's not because I'm naive, it's because the vast majority of the population just has NO idea that there's even a black market for this stuff. I know I had no idea.

thank you

Thanks Roey, I think you are right I don't visit the eBay forums frequently myself, because I don't like the 'atmosphere' out there. But if someone else wants to mention it over there, please feel free to do so.

Thank you, thank you!! You have really done us all a great service. I only wish eBay cared. I'm so disenchanted by them and their apathy. I don't know how many bags I've reported and none of them has been removed. I only buy there because I don't know other venues with the same bargains; isn't that a monopoly? Anyway, your time and efforts are greatly appreciated!!

Surprising!

Can someone give me a link to that eBay Chanel discussion? I've been reading up, trying to educate myself on authentication and the like. Plus I'm curious. TIA!

I've seen comments here by regular eBay members that say they're going back to "their eBay forum because people are nicer, more helpful adn a tighter knit group" and I've seen similar comments on teh eBay boards

On the contrary, I have seen some truly HORRIFIC behavior on the eBay boards.

I think it's OK to give you the link. If it isn't, I'm sure Amanda will remove it.

YAY!

Nat
to the rescue... again!

and Mon, our super-spy (LOL, I couldn't find a "spy" smiley... so I just assumed that spies wear hats and sunglasses??)

I REALLY appreciate all of the efforts you guys put into educating and i.e. helping us here on the forum. I'm shocked by this, I was LOOKING at one of this seller's auctions yesterday and BF suggested that I bid on it. (but I didn't, thank goodness)

This is one of the BIG reasons that I am tremendously grateful for this forum. In essence, "we got each other's back"

-and I agree w/ Roey and Swanky, I truly feel horrible for those who have been duped by hideous scammers like this. -That's why I don't always pass judgement when I see someone with a blatant fake... I can't assume that they went to Santee Alley and bought it for $20. -Maybe they paid top dollar for something they truly thought was genuine. I guess that's why I'm more than anything compassionate when I see someone with a fake -because if they don't know it's a fake, they're just wrongly misinformed, or have been mislead. If they DO know it's a fake, they either don't know the horrible truth about fakes, or even worse, don't care.

All in all, I LOVE tPF and thank all the members here who make it a better "BAG world" for everyone who is able to gain the precious knowledge that wonderful members like Nat and Mon (among MANY others) have to offer.

!

thanks for bringing this up to our attention.

This is one of the reason why I haven't purchase anything from eBay. There are just too many scammer and unethical people out there. I believe in karma, and that seller is going to get what she/he deserves.
