After reading some of the postings by TFPers in this forum, I contacted a SA from Hirsheleifers about a Chanel purse and they happen to have what I was looking for. Before I make the purchase (since I am new to Hirshleifers), did anyone have any bad experiences making a purchase from them?

I was told that there is no tax since the item is shipped from NY, even though I live in CA?? That's sounds like a good deal. And ground shipping is only $20?! Do I need to purchase my own insurance to insure the item?

Also, I note that there is no refund (only store credit). What happened if there are scratches on the purse? The material is lambskin and I don't know for sure if there are any scratches. I asked for a picture, but I couldn't quite tell. I presume all the Chanels bags are brand new and authentic at Hirsheleifers (as they are charging the same price as the boutique)???

Sorry it may be silly questions but I have never shopped at Hirshleifers before I started reading this forum. So any useful info will be helpful. Thanks!!

queenbee11 I have only had fantastic experiences working with H. I have ordered several handbags from them and they have all arrived pristine! The no tax and the 8020 club are great savings that I cannot get anywhere else anymore so H is always my first choice. The discount stamps at H add up fast when buying Chanel bags with the crazy prices so its a nice little incentive to shop thru them... So long as you have seen the bag you are ordering because of their credit policy and refunds :(

That is the downside of H. I would say if its something you absolutely know you want, order from H. If you are uncertain, it may be risky unless you don't mind keeping your credit with them until the next bag!

Unfortunately Chanel is now always an exclusion for NM gift card promotions so they are last on my list when hunting.

I hope your experiences are as wonderful as mine
Congrats on your new purchase!

I had a great experience with them. Someone had posted that they had the WOC I wanted, so I contacted them about it and asked for pictures of the one they had in stock. They replied immediately and I bought it within hours of the first email! It was so easy. And yes, I'm also from CA and didn't get charged tax and shipping was only $20. I think it was insured through them, so you don't have to pay extra for that. But you could always ask to double check. It was packaged nicely and they include a checklist that the packager checked off to make sure it was I'm good condition..so I hope that'll give you some relief.

I think their return policy keeps returns to a minimum so the bags leaving H are in fact brand new and in pristine condition.

I also live in CA. No tax, low cost shipping (signature required-did not cost extra) the club rewards. It was awesome! Wish I had ordered from them earlier. Would have saved me money! I enjoyed the experience. I get my bags on Monday :) also preordering from them and only having to put 50% down was awesome! I only want to order from them. If I have to wait for a bag, then so be it. It's worth the savings and the rewards!

How does their rewards program work?

It's the 2080 Club, I believe that's what it's called. So, for every $750 you spend, you earn a "stamp" which is just monitored in their computer system. After 10 "stamps" you get $500.00 (FREE) to spend. I was told there is no minimum spending amount and it doesn't expire. For example, when you get the $500, you can spend $100 and save the $400 for another day. Pretty simple
