$750 for $50 gc?! That's just crazy. That's not even 10% off.
Lisa is her name?

God I cannot stand her. She has always been snarky with me...she always acts like I am not good enough to touch the bags/shoes.

Makes you wonder how people like Lisa who repulses everyone can stay working there.

^She was the one who yelled really loud in the store telling me the bag is authentic. I'm glad they don't get commission, because I'd really rather prefer to buy it from another nice SA who has long blonde hair but I don't know her name.

Is there really going to be a price increase in August?

There is a really nice SA with long curly blonde hair (she's not Carol), she is always pleasant even when I am just browsing. I should ask for her name next time.

Was she the one you were talking about, Honeyspice?

There are two SA named Lisa one with black hair and one with blonde hair...
Personally I dun like them both... They are not helpful at all...

The long curly one is called Stacey. She's such a sweetheart...

It is so unfair!! But I do feel a bit better, that they aren't just hiding them.

Hi, in response to both of your questions, I did make a phone purchase of Jimmy Choo boots from a Nordstrom in NYC a while back. The boots were on sale for $495 from $960, but anyways, I was charged $35 for shipping and when I got it through UPS, i think, I had to pay another $90 in duties and GST.

As for alterations, normally on sale jackets, they do charge for alterations. complimentary alterations are for regular prices items. HOWEVER, do sweet talk your SA (the girls in the calgary boutique are awesome!) and they will allow you comp alterations. mind you, the jacket I did buy was on sale from $7500 to $5530.. so what I paid was pretty much regular price on other Chanel jackets, so maybe that was why I got away with it. regardless, its worth a try! good luck!

^^ $90 in duties and GST isn't too bad...

I would expect them to comp the alterations when paying over $5500 for a jacket, so that's good to know!

FYI,

Import duty on clothes & shoes are 18%.
Handbags are 10.5% & wallets are 8%.

It's only good to buy outside when item is:
1) on sale
2) not available in Canada
3) when exchange rate is good (not bad lately with ~US$0.90 exchange rate)
