Seller's red Chanel was Authenticated and listed in "Chanel Finds", This listing states "Authenticity number is only the little strip left", if authentic any chance that thie year could be identified, and also, the color is confusing, it looks black, does Chanel make a blue that looks black?

Same Seller:

Item : AUTHENTIC Vintage XL Chanel Black LAMBSKIN Tote
Seller: louis_fanatic
Listing number: N/A

Comments: Listings states "authenticity number is partially scratched out and is stuck to the interior bottom of the bag" , if authentic any chance that thie year could be identified,

TIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Both are authentic.

Regarding the Navy color that looks black: Yes, I've seen many CHANEL navy bags that look black in pictures.

For age of the bag please visit the authenticity tips thread in the CHANEL shopping section.

I will definitely bear in mind the number of request for next time. I just have a few questions to clarify your reply, for
No.2- by irregular do you mean the angle that the hologram is taken? Or irregular as in unusual hologram (I take it as a bad sign)?
No.4- I checked the list on page 1 and the seller seemed to meet all the requirements. Would you mind re-authenticating the listing if it doesn't cause you too much trouble?

Thank you again, I really appreciate your help!
I'm not pursepushin but I'll try to answer:

No. 2 - I think she meant the angle at which the picture was taken. I looked at the pictures and the bag looks authentic to me.

No. 4 - I see all of the required pictures. The bag is authentic.

Thank you! I'm 2 steps away from buying this one, but just one last question; hope you can help me out although it's got nothing to do with authenticating.

The straps seem really long (and I'm really short), do you think I can shorten them or is that not possible with this type of bag? (with some types of bags the straps can be worn either short or long)

The straps look like they attach to the outside of the bag. If they were attached to the inside of the bag you could jimmy-rig an apparatus (or tie chain in a knot) to short the strap. Since the straps are on the outside I think you would need to have links taken out. I don't think CHANEL would do this, but perhaps you can find a cobbler who can.

No. 4, I was watching that flashy review of photos and didn't see the necessary ones. Glad that Mon caught it for you.

I almost did the same thing. I see picture slide shows and first thing I want to do is logout of those auctions right away.
