Yeah, I agree. The size and shape is the same but other than the placement of the handles, many of the little details are different. That's another reason I can keep it without feeling like a have a "fake" or replica bag.

Thanks for sharing your comparison shots. I do like that JCrew has added some of their own detailing to a bag inspired by Celine!

I have mixed feelings on bags that are arguably inspired, but in any event, J. Crew makes great leather bags at a more affordable price point. I believe I saw a box-inspired bag by J. Crew a year or so ago. Has anyone seen it?

Thanks for the comparison pix, CourtneyMc.

Not sure, I think it would depend on how big the laptop is. My iPad 2 fits in there very, very easily. However, since the bottom of the bag is smaller than the top where the flaps are sticking out, I'd worry about anything bigger than a 12 inch fitting in down at the bottom of the bag if that makes sense. I can do a measurement when I get home if that will help.

I came across Mango today and saw that they also have a Celine inspired bag, like the Box...

So, now as I am home: I have to admit that I have been eying the Box due to its simple beauty. However as I have no fund now because of my camel Mini, I had to take that like-Box from Mango home with me. So I can test how I could handle the Box or whether it is too boring for me (I am not sure whether it is too simple for me...). And after bringing it home, I guess, I need a Box in the future.

Some pics:

Thanks for posting pics. Been eying the JC bag, particularly in the tan/luggage color, in addition to a C black mini luggage. Can't go wrong with BOTH!

Some stores have them. They come in a red with canvas front that has stripes, too and I only saw that in couple of stores and not on the web.

I think they are simples and chic.

Great link!!

I ended up returning the one I purchased. I just decided that the leather didn't scream quality to me and I thought the monotone was a bit boring. No sense in spending $300+ on something if you don't love it. However, I love this springy canvas combo. It's cheaper and has a lot more visual interest than the one I ordered, for sure.

I hope no one kills me for this, but I love the design of the J.Crew bag! I love the flap and zip on top! Don't get me wrong, I love my mini but idk. Sometimes it can be too simple! There is something about this bag that actually made my mouth water!! Lol I might have to swing by the mall this weekend, at that price point I can get one in every color!!!

That's my concerns too so I could not click "add to shopping cart" even I like this style a lot. After experiencing Celine's leather, it is hard to compromise to lower leather quality. Plus for $300, I could buy a zip around pouch.
