The one I use is called Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP, it's not an oil but more like beeswax (that's what it reminds me of), comes in a small black container. Instructions said to use your fingers to massage it onto the leather because your body temperature helps melt LP or a blow dryer, buff it out with a soft cloth after.

The smooth leather on my luggage tote was scuffed, but Obenauf Heavy Duty LP made it look like new again. I applied one coat, let it dry overnight, and applied a second coat the following night. It feels a little tacky after application, but letting it sit for 24 hours and buffing it with a soft cloth makes it feel smooth again.
