Hi Ladies,

I have a Celine mini luggage like in the photo, and as i'm sure you all know its not got grainy leather like the Birkin togo, it seems more delicate.

I havent used it yet as every time i decide to go out it starts to rain and i'm not talking a little shower, its more like a waterfall. Its nearly July and the weathers like this. Thats the U.K!

Anyway back to the bag. Does anyone know if the bag will be ruined if i get it in the rain? Or is it like the grainy leather? Where once it dries it still looks the same? I know my Mum got her birkin soaked in the rain but once it dried it looked fine.

I would suggest protecting it with leather protector. A fellow purse forum member suggested corollini (sp?) organic leather protector. This protects suede, leather, & nubuck which should cover all aspects of ur bag since the wings are suede & the rest is leather. This should greatly protect against rain, oil, & dirt!

Thankyou, but i have never heard of this before and i cant seem to find anything like that name on the internet.

Does anyone know the correct name? And i'd be worried to spray the bag with anything. Is it definetly ok to do this?

Thanks again :o)

Hi there! I believe it is the NANO TECH spray from Collonil. http://www.collonil-nanotech.de/en/nanopro.html They have a few products available on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...ords=collonil+ . I use the gel and it is a great product.

When I bought my Mini Luggage yesterday, the SA said that one her colleagues had got caught in a downpour and her mini Luggage got soaked. It was completely fine. However, it was the all smooth leather version, it did not have suede panels. I would be very careful about getting suede caught in the rain as it is not durable like leather. I have some suede shoes that I have worn in the rain and they have faded a lot and the texture has become rougher over time. Maybe try the Collonil Water Stop Spray. I've used that on my Chanel lambskin shoes and it worked a treat. It can also be used on suede as well.

I just got my first Celine Luggage in smooth black leather, and I am just as scared getting rain on it. The SA told me not to treat the leather with anything, but I am not sure what to do. Where I live, it rains more than 200 days every year.
Maybe a mild formula (also suitable for suede) is safe to try. I will test on the interior first.
Good luck with the lovely bag. It looks fabulous.

When I asked the SA in Florence he told me not to treat my luggage either (smooth navy) but to wipe it with a dry cloth if it does rain a bit. If it pours down you probably shouldnt use the luggage. You could always bring a plastic bag inside the luggage to cover it if it does suddenly start to rain

I carry a longchamp bag inside mine so if ever it does pour down (because you never know in London...), I just pop it in there... I cannot remember which size one I have but I think its in the luggage range...

Thank you so much :) The emergency plastic bag is good advice. On days with heavy rain a LV canvas bag is better.
