I came into this thread expecting something that would blow me away. Her closet doesn't look good at all. Sure she has loads of stuff, but the set up is ugly and tasteless. It's not organized nicely and just has no appeal. She needs to take notes from Mariah Carey.

Lol @ her quote though. Funny part is, she's not even close to beautiful. Yet she's suffering for beauty.

I read The Rise of Silas Lapham in one of my literature classes, and the book is about a materialistic rise of the character Silas Lapham who earns a fortune in the paint business. It's a sort of 'rags to riches' story.


There was a telling scene in the book where Silas invites his wealthy friends over to his house. While there, his friends could automatically tell he was new money - he had an 'Instant Library': he had bookshelves of leather bound books but they were all new and never opened.


(The old monied families passed books through their families and the libraries were gradually acquired.)





The statement that Kimora buys designer shoes ten at a time reminded me of that.

While having a fortune like that would be nice, I would never want to get to a point where I could buy ten items from a designer boutique just because I could.


I would think I would enjoy buying one or two things at a time because I would really enjoy having them.

This is kind of why I have a problem with KLS. I don't like people that are braggart about what they have. When her and her family first moved into their house in NJ, they did a cribs episode. She walked around pointing things out saying how much they cost like the carpet on the stairs. I find it very tacky when people talk about money saying basically "Look how much I paid for this". She could of just said something like "It was expensive or I don't remember". I also find it tacky when someone asks how much something costs when they walk into your house...which has happened to me. I always feel like saying "Why? do you want to buy it???" I figure, if I paid for it, it's nobody else's business.

but what tells you that people who do buy multiple goods during one stroll do not appreciate each and every single item like you do?
and have you never ever bought more then one piece while shopping?
one thing must not neccessarely go without the other.

I would hate to have that closet! it would take me 12 hours just to get ready to go somewhere. plus, the place would be in a mess! hope she has a housekeeper!

What I'm saying is, there's a difference in attitude between, "I'm buying these Jimmy Choos because I love them" and "I'm buying ten pairs of Jimmy Choos because I CAN."
