Sharon Stone continued her legacy of incredibly idiocy today. And it really is a legacy. The woman is constantly saying and doing such moronic, disgusting, terrible things that you think she can’t possibly top the last debacle… and then she does.
Two weeks ago a massive earthquake hit the Chinese province of Sichuan. 88,000 people are dead or missing. 80% of the buildings have been destroyed. Several schools were leveled, trapping and killing thousands of schoolchildren. The entire thing has been nothing but devastating. So how does lovely Sharon Stone respond? By saying that the Chinese brought it on themselves. You know, the poor villagers and children.

“I’m, you know, not happy about the way the Chinese are treating the Tibetans, because I don’t think anyone should be unkind to anyone else. And so, I have been very concerned about how to think and what to do about that because I don’t like … that. And then I’ve been, this, you know, concerned about, oh, how should we deal with the Olympics, because they’re not being nice to the Dali Lama who is a good friend of mine. And then all this earthquake and all this stuff happened, and I thought, is that karma? When you’re not nice that the bad things happen to you?”

If by some incredible twist of fate an earthquake hit ONLY the small area that housed the leadership of China, one might ponder her point. But thousands of innocent children lost in their schools? It is time that EVERYONE, from celebutards to religious leaders, realized that natural disasters do not strike because of what the people or leadership of a country or state or city have done or not done. No one brings these things on themselves, nor is there any possible way they could. NATURAL disasters are just that - they are not punishments or judgements.

I find her statements just as appalling as the statements from people who stated that Hurricane Katrina was a judgement against New Orleans.

Celebrities are here on this earth to simply entertain us, mostly with their acting abilities. It doesn't give them any more status than that, and there is no reason to expect to get anything that could reasonably be construed as intelligent opinion out of them. I think of them as cartoon characters. Like South Park.

The only conclusion I can come up with is she had a subarachnoid hemorrhage, which left her a different person, perhaps. Ok, on a more serious note, the above medical reason can't be blamed at all on her remarks. She has a way making many foam at the mouth, doesn't she.
