Hugh Hefner has announced he is winding down the Playboy parties.

He has several children, but Playboy Enterprises owns the mansion, he just rents. His oldet daughter runs the empire right now. One of his teenage sons has expressed interest in running it when she is no longer able to. His oldest son apparently had no desire to run Playboy.

I am sure it's money. I've flipped through Playboy through the years and it has become THE most outdated boring magazine ever recently. Period. I am serious when I say that AARP has more interesting articles. You can find nude pictures anywhere these days, so your magazine has to have interesting content to survive. I'm thinking the days of Playboy excess are over.

^ good point. now with the internet why would anyone pay for a subscription when you could get nude photos and even porn on the net and sometimes at no cost.

if the internet has the ability to put the newspaper out of business i'm sure over time it could do the same to playboy

It's a shame,too, because Playboy used to be Maxim/GQ hip with a Rolling Stone/Blender vibe. They covered the hippest clubs,travel spots, gear, celebs. Now it is such a snooze. I loved the movie House Bunny so I bought this months issue with House Bunny featured. I got halfway through and tossed it. They profiled Guns And Roses-I don't even think they have anything new out! My hubby even passed on reading the sports. I couldn't give the damn magazine away,lol.
