I agree totally...and buying or not buying her CDs or listening to or boycotting her music is not going to make a difference in her behavior...

People can be SO judgemental...I hope she gets help instead of wasting her life and her talent, but it's certainly NOT my job (or anyone else here) to judge her...

I don't want to go into the details of the prolonged torture that was my childhood. I certainly don't want to buy into any arguments about it. All I will say is, I understand someone doing drugs to blot out their pain. At the same time, I don't endorse blotting out with drugs as a solution, in fact exactly the opposite ... because once you're on that treadmill, you can't see behind yourself to where you came from. But the only way to deal with pain is to accept it, to confront the source; and to do that, you have to turn yourself around and face it. And as Shimma Puff said, Amy is the only one who can turn Amy around.

To me that adds up to this: if you have a belief system - if you are a Christian or Buddhist or whatever - you could do worse than just say a prayer for Amy. Or if you don't have any system of belief - maybe just plug into the cosmos and wish her well. Just send out a good vibe for her to find her way to her own peace. I think, I believe - that truly is the kindest thing you can do.

Just my $0.02.
Thats such a lovely thing to say,a little slice of compassion is priceless, however the person got there.I hope she overcomes whats going on,by the time people get to this stage of drugs it can be a superhuman struggle to overcome it,I don't think they want to carry on,its just so hard to stop.

A very close person that I know became addicted to crack. The descent was the saddest thing I have ever seen.
When from having the world, a job, home, playtoys, friends, etc. At this point in their life, 35-40 years old, recreational drugs, weekend parties had been part of this persons life.
Once the crack was introduced, it took less than one year to loss EVERYTHING....

This person would never ever hurt another living soul but did end up stealing from coin laundry machines and such to feed the habit.

There was NOTHING to be said or done. This person knew that it was killing them, and could not stop... and probably would have if the arrest had not happened.

This was not the first run in with the police as is pretty standard for people addicted to drugs.
When this person was before the judge, the family stood up and begged the judge to help.
This time, jail sentence for 1 year.

This was over 5 years ago and I am thrilled to say this person came out of jail clean and has stayed that way.

I feel really sorry for her or anyone who takes that road and cannot come back... such scary stuff....
