I think it's just a vintage tapestry bag. It looks like a homemade one from the kits in the 50's...

^I immediately thought "carpet bag", as well, lol. Haven't they been on an uber vintage kick, lately...one of them had a beat up (albeit still gorgeous) Kelly.
