Julia Roberts bag in Mona Lisa Smile...anyone know?

Does anyone know what the bag is and/or who made the bag that Julia Roberts character carries in the movie Mona Lisa Smile? It's a HUGE, fabulous leather shoulder bag that she carries to her classes - I LOVE it!

The time-period is the early 50's ('53 I think), but I have no clue about this bag... Any thoughts or even a good guess? Mahalo in advance!
