Guess I'll go first...

My boss is such a douchebag. He owns 2 small companies. I work for one of them. After getting the job, I find my Accountant job responsibilities expanding to include those of the receptionist, warehouse, and sales department; and, not to mention we're the boss and the sales reps' own personal servant.

On top of that, apparently working full-time for one of his companies is not enough. Outside of my job description, I am now FT Accountant for company X and a PT Accountant for his other company Y, without extra pay. As if I'm not already busy enough with company X's daily work.

It's not illegal what he is doing, but I don't think it's right either. He is the boss and what he says is the law as long as I work for him. True. But it's still SO unethical what he is doing.

So...

This thread is for all you hard working ladies who are having a hard time at work, whether from your boss or co-workers. It's a thread made for venting! Come share your stories and hopefully someone else can relate to them and brighten up their day!

Looking for a job is one thing, finding one and getting one is another matter. I have been looking for a new job for months now because I am not happy where I am but I have had so little interest its unbelievable, likewise my boyfriend is in the same position after graduating last year.

Yeah...it's kind of hard with the way the economy is now. But don't lose hope.

I cry in my car almost every day before I go to work and I have since December (I started working there in November). Thankfully I am starting school full time in August and I will be able to find a part time job at my leisure. It is an amazing luxury and I am thankful to have it.

Looked for a job since the horror started, came up with nothing.

My job isn't awful, I just hate when I have nothing to do. It makes the day go by so slowly.

My job is good, i'm blessed to get to see gorgeous countries and if I don't like one co-worker I never have to see them again (hopefully). However, passengers can be very annoying, the hours are long and I hate spending long periods of time away from my husband and dogs!

To Surgeons/Residents,

It's great that you have chosen a career to help people and save lives. But if there is one thing most of you suck at, it's communication. Learn to write your orders properly and clearly and maybe you won't get paged so much. There's no need to be a f**ken *** when you call back and treat me like i'm incompetent.

Don't tell your patients one thing and then order something else without telling the nurse or the patient. It confuses people!

Yup, i'm a cranky RN and had a ****-tastic day

my work cut back everyones hours in our department cause they were giving away too much pay through hours.

well, my co-worker complained she needed extra hours to pay her bills. so they further cut back MY HOURS to give her MORE HOURS.
before the hours cut, she had an average of 18 to 28 hours and i had 15 to 20 hours. after the first cut, she had 15 to 20 and i had 10 to 12 hours. then after she complained of needing hours, i started to get 7 to 10 weekly hours and she gets hours that are very close to before they began ANY cuts. WTF. this is bull.

i have been openly talking about quitting and getting another job and voicing how unfair they are being in cutting my hours. my hours since then have slowly increased by 3 hours. still looking for another part time job in addition to this one or a full time job to replace this one.

this week, i worked 12, she is working 28 hours.

THEN!! ON TOP OF THAT!
right when word got out that they were cutting hours, they hired 4 new people!!! how does that make sense? we only found out about the hours being cut cause a co-worker (works in a different area) walked in on two managers discussing work.

Carter and Evan too!
I got in trouble for taking too long in the accounting/office bathroom today.

I've been so stressed from work I've had chronic bowel issues. I was told I'm welcome to use their bathroom but not text/call whatever while I'm in there. I didn't even have my cell on me! I took about 10 minutes and was told I've done so repeatedly when this was the 1st time this week.

I don't want to explain things to them though it's too embarassing.

I need to get out. Planning on doing so just after the first of the year. Not sure what to do after that other than veg out. No other jobs of value around here.

The place just p's me off more and more every day.

Thing is, it isn't really a bad job or a bad place. I just don't 'fit' there any more if that makes sense.

A very good friend of mine is a surgical-intensive care nurse at an inner-city hospital...after hearing her stories - you can be cranky any time you need to be - You are really the one dealing with the patient's needs.

See, I have found that if you offer to explain things to people... in detail... they never ask again. You would be surprised at how embarressed you can make OTHER people with little to no effort.

So, at my job, I stand or sit on a ladder all day long. I stick one arm and my head into a hole that is 11" x 18" oval. And I work with chemicals that are nasty enough that my work pays us for 20 minutes at the end of the day to take a shower. I have to do at least half of my work by looking in a mirror to see what I am doing. Some of that work I have to do looking in the mirror and working with my non-dominant hand. I won't complain about my co-workers, because co-workers are about the same everywhere. Some are nice, some are asshats. At least I have a cool supervisor this year. Last year I had the supervisor from hell.
