I'm pretty close with a couple of ppl here at work, so we often have lunch together. However since I bring my own lunch most of the time, normally we will go either Thu or Fri or both days. Many times I feel like just go to a mall on my own and I will tell them that I'm not going with them and they are fine with that. Vice versa when they have errands to do and unable to go with me.
I don't know what she expected of you, many people don't realize that we are not bff in any way and we come to work to work, not looking for friends --unless by any chance you meet some cool people at work and decided to be friends off work too. But nah..we keep it in personal level. We may be close at work, but once I get home, that's the end of it.
I used to take lunch with a work friend, but our schedules changed and now it doesn't allow, so I eat alone somewhere, at my desk, OR meet up with friends from my neighborhood that work in the same area as me.
I have friends at work, but I'm always super selective about who I trust.
I lunch at my desk prior to my actual lunch break (we rarely take lunches together- it's small office and there needs to be coverage in the office) Since we don't have a lunch room - I nap in my car during the break.. (either that or I'm out running errands)
I always bring my lunch. So sometimes I eat at my desk b/c I have too much work and don't want to stay late or I go eat with other people even if they buy or I walk around alone and window shop and then eat at my desk when I get back.
I spend it at my desk. However, I sit at a desk right outside my boss and our managers' offices, so we often end up chatting during the time. We start a couple of hours earlier than the rest of the people in the department, so we take lunch earlier too. I like it that way-I can socialize if I want but I can surf the internet and relax on my own if I want as well.
I prefer to take my lunch alone so I can eat what I want without people commenting (I need to lose a lot of weight and I get sick of people pushing food on me or telling me I need to eat more). I also like to go for a walk and get out of the office environment.
