I didn't realize that my bag is made out of this rubbery material. I'm a noobie and this is my first burberry. Is this their signature fabric/material? Please help thanks!!

yes, it's PVC.

oh okay, is coated canvas the same thing as PVC?

yes, it's just what it's called for burberry's coated canvas. you can look on the burberry site and look at the purses that have the same pattern. the nova check is PVC.

vs. louis vuitton where it's called coasted canvas.

vs. gucci where it's gg plus or gg crystal.

You need to be careful with this PVC, it gets transfer from denim/other material VERY VERY easily and will pick up all sorts of stains. Everyone has trouble with it.

Thankyou very much! I really didn't know that they used such materials for their handbags.. To be honest, I don't really like it. It feels like rubber and I can't imagine holding it on a hot summery day since it already feels sticky lol.

Thanks! I kinda read about it on TPF and it does seem like everyone who encounters a stain cannot get rid of it. I think I'm going to return my bag. It's so cute though...and I got it for such a good price!!

Well, just becareful with it esp when you wear denim...other clothes that will stain when wet (rain and all that). Other than that some of my friends have no issues with it. Not esp when it's at a a good price

^ agreed. i haven't had an issue w/ my PVC at all, but i don't wear dark jeans. i've had mine for 3 months and i have no stains and it's my everyday bag!

I love the material of the novacheck. very easy to keep clean and just lovely quality. I would keep it if I were you, esp. if you got a great deal

Just keep it away from dark jeans and you should be ok. :)

I love dark denim and I suffered from jean stains on my nova check tote. Try to clean the stain as soon as possible, like within the same day. I used a warm cloth with just a bit of detergent and it came right off. Again, try to do it as soon as possible so it doesn't have time to seep into the material. If that happens, you'll be left scrubbing for awhile!
