Hi all,
I was out shopping with a friend yesterday when we unexpectedly stumbled upon a Burberry Outlet (we did not know it was there prior to yesterday) so naturally I went mental buying lots of things ![]() The first thing I made up my mind to buy was a gorgeous Burberry watch and then I got distracted by scarves, bags and other things. It was really careless of me not to check the watch properly. When I came home, I took the watch out of the box to adjust the time only to realise it wasn't working. Slightly panicked, I got my friend to call the Burberry outlet/store (very strange because the official Burberry website list this as a store and not an outlet) to ask about this and was told that apparently, the watches do not come with batteries installed and that I would have to get my own. Huh? I have never heard of anything like this before and thought I might ask if anyone here has ever had the same experience? Did your Burberry watch come with a battery installed? If it does/doesn't, did you buy it from a store or outlet? |

Hi Old,
Thanks for the insight. I thought it was really strange as well and still do...just seems kind of "unprofessional" and I've never bought a watch that doesn't come with a battery preinstalled ![]() Any suggestion on what to do now? The problem is the Burberry store (outlet?) is about 3 and a half hours' drive away so I can't just drop in any time. |

Wow I purchased my Burberry watch at a Burberry boutique and it was working when I left the store and they polished it for me. It also helped that the manager of that particular store was helping me. It came with directions, warranty, and in a very nice box.

A quick update: I rang Burberry customer service and spoke to someone who was very helpful and confirmed that the watch should have indeed come with a battery. I was told to call the store where I had bought the watch from again and seek out a solution.
This time the SA apologized and said she had no idea why this could have happened, etc and then tried to sneak in a "sometimes the watches don't come with battery" and I informed her that customer service said that's a crock of rubbish and she just trailed off...anyway, since the store is too far away for me to drop by anytime soon, the SA is trying to get in contact with a store closer to me to arrange a "solution". I've been told to check in with them again next week. We'll see what happens then. Thanks so much again to Old for the helpful info and thank you purseprincess32 for sharing your watch experience. |
