Default Yay, got my first BV and have a question.
I got my first BV, a pre-loved white Veneta in great condition. Love the soft leather.

Got a couple of questions though...How do you protect the BV leather? I tried to read the old posts and seem to be getting conflicting info. I am leaning towards not spreading the nude leather with anything. But what conditioner does BV ladies use to condition her bag?? I am leaning towards products from lovinmybags.com, but Barbara had several types of conditioners and cleaners. I want to make sure to get the best for my Veneta and to preserve the condition and color of the leather since I plan to use this beauty for a long long time.

Any recommendations on a good leather cleaner and conditioner??

ITA!!

Be careful not to wear it with brand new denim - the blue dye will transfer FAST!

To answer your question about dark colored clothing......if it's something that will run in the wash it'll transfer color to your white bag. The SA I deal with at BV advises against using anything on the bags, especially the woven ones because the sides of the leather strips are untreated and will absorb whatever chemicals you use. On the unwoven bags that over time show marks, sort of like scratches, she recommends Coach leather conditioner. A BV bag can always be sent to BV for cleaning and reconditioning for a nominal fee.

I have the same question except I will buy a dark colored Veneta first, and I've got a snake skin wallet. I used to use Clarks protector on leather handbags. Should I use it on BV or should I just use the bags as they are and occasionally send them to BV for cleaning and conditioning? BTW the protector is said to be used on leather, suede, nubuck and canvas, but not on patent leather. I guess I shouldn't use it on my wallet?

I remember a discussion on what to use for exotic skins, and I believe mink oil came up as an alternative. But I'm too not sure, and would rather wait for the BV experts to pipe in.

Congrats on your first BV btw, acshih! Some pics would be great too!
