I think this is the very reason why I can not buy BV shoes... the horror of getting them dirty and wet.

I wouldn't walk barefoot, but I'd carry some flip flops whenever I wear the leather flats. After rain last week, I've decided I need to get a protective bag to store in the bottom of my BV for the downpours that I can't anticipate. I ran into a drug store and bought something so I could get a bag to protect the precious.

But I feel this way about all my shoes! with the exception of my sneakers and reefs! I would really cringe if I got caught in the rain with my Elisa Ferare's because the sole is such thin leather... so now I need to think about carrying reefs, a dry bag, and an umbrella for protection! - and I need a stylish waterproof tote for that... ah-ha, my foldable Longchamp tote will do nicely. So much for "hands free."

I have a pair of BV ballerina flats and it was pouring cats and dogs one evening. I was on the way to the petshop to get food for my dog (who is in my avatar).

I couldnt wait out on the thunderstorm due to schedule constraints and it didnt occur to me to walk barefooted!! So what I did was I went ahead and my BV flats were soaking wet by the time I reached the petshop that even the shopkeeper commented that my shoes were all wet!!

I was heartbroken! But what I did once I reached home was I let the flats air naturally and then I took the hairdryer to dry the shoes in loooooow heat.

I guess I was fortunate, VERY fortunate. My BV flats are still with me today and they are still as good as new!! It is also a mark/sign of the good quality leather that BV uses for their products!

i am determined to use and enjoy my bags and most of my shoes. i have sprayed them so unless it is absolutely necessary i carry my nero cabat. i don't wear my nero ballet flats if it is actually raining when i am leaving the house but otherwise i do wear them. i know this may sound foolish but i have too many bags that have been rarely used because i was afraid of ruining them. they are in perfect condition and in my closet. it always makes me sad that they have seen so little use.
when i bought this cabat my sa assured me that it is strong and the dark color would make it really durable so unless it is pouring i carry my cabat and so far fine.
i took it on a plane as a carry on- no problem.

annie999, I am with you on the determination to use and enjoy our bags and shoes.

I from time to time have to walk in "small streams" when it is pouring in this little tropic island and i have many pairs of shoes that had gone through the "fire" in situation like this and if they are good quality, they will "bounce" back.

I must confess that I have actually accidentally spilled some milk tea on my burnt orange Montaigne a couple of weeks ago and even though tissues were immediate whipped up to dabbed it dry, but you know tea and light color leather. I was praying that it will not leave any tea marks after it is dries up. Well what do you know; my leather cleaning lotion managed to get all the marks off without much effort You got to love good quality leather products

Wow, I'm so glad that I'm not the only one. I knew it I knew it!!
Yep, I threw the body wash bottles into another shopping bag, and put the flats in it, and then put the plastic bag in another big shopping bag so to ensure it's well-protected & safe! LOL

springrabbit - you're so funny!

kicksarefortwids & Baggiana - that's a good idea & I should do the same, keep a pair of flip flops in the office and probably another pair in the car. but it shouldn't be bv flip flops, eh?? :P luckily I live a bit far away from the city, and it's pretty quite at night at my residential area, so other than a cab driver who just happened to pass by while I was crossing the road, I'm pretty sure no one else saw me. hehehe...

LT bag lady - your DD is such a darling! even if my DS is old enough to understand this, I bet he would just turn around and run away with his raincoat if I ask him the same thing!

Mid-, oh it's a pity! I can't say that the bv shoes are the most comfortable ones, but they look so good! does it rain a lot in your city?

kopibaby & aaa_1188 - gasp!! you 2 lucky gals! I guess it also depends on the color & leather of the flats, it might be ok if I wore the eclipse patent leather flats, but I wouldn't be so lucky if I wore the aurora flats in nappa & soak it in the rain last night!

oh good point! I have a folder with all the important docs & certs in it. I should put it in the same closet as the BVs, so I can grab them all at the same time before I leave the house! LOL
